About this position

We are looking for an innovative and influential Human Resources senior leader to spearhead the Talent Management Division, within the Human Resources Department (HRD) of the IDB.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in developing the vision, executing, and oversight of core HR programs: talent acquisition, talent management, workforce and succession planning, and mobility. The Talent Management Chief is a seasoned expert who leverages deep knowledge and experience to drive the organizational talent strategy, establishing an inclusive workplace environment and ensuring strong alignment between organizational and talent needs. The successful candidate will provide though leadership to the talent solutions, talent acquisition, special talent programs groups and will act as a trusted advisor to the Human Resources General Manager on providing effective strategic talent management solutions for the IDB Group.

The Human Resources Department is responsible for the administration and development of the human capital of the IDB Group. The main functions of the department include managing the entire employee lifecycle, overseeing the implementation of the People Strategy, and implementing programs and methodologies in direct support of the IDBโ€™s mission. HRD is also dedicated to deliver human centered experiences and strategically partnering with professionals who are passionate about improving lives in Latin America and the Caribbean. What youโ€™ll do:

Lead the conceptualization, implementation, and continuous improvement of HR programs and management tools through deep understanding of IDB Group talent needs. Lead the development of policies and guidelines related to talent management programs with inputs from the HR Business Partners team and Centers of Expertise and takes a comprehensive and strategic approach to communicate and enact change with the different stakeholders. Establish partnerships with IDB Group leadership and acts as a trusted advisor, providing expertise and strategic vision in discussing their talent management needs. Design, build, and deploy a workforce planning structure, using data analytics to support the senior leaders and managers in their decisions and how to best build their teams. Oversees the annual talent management exercises, including talent review meetings, workforce call, and promotion process. Ensure collaboration and partnership with the Leadership and Employee Development Division to facilitate knowledge transfer and identify opportunities to streamline talent processes without compromising alignment to regional/local needs. Establish key metrics and statistics and monitor progress toward objectives. Integrate hard and anecdotal data to analyze the impact and results of HR initiatives, leveraging insights to lead continuous improvement. Provide thought leadership and direction to the Division. Monitors the quality of outputs, achievement of long-term goals, and annual objectives for the Division. Mentor and assess the Division's staff, providing goals and expectations, feedback, and technical guidance to optimize performance and enhance service delivery quality.

What you'll need

Education Requirement: Master's degree or equivalent advanced degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role.

Relevant Experience Requirements: At least 15 years of relevant experience in HR-related field, HR transformation, or managing organization-wide HR initiatives, from conceptual development to delivery of results.

Proven track record in strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to quickly establish and maintain trust and credibility with all stakeholders. Strong business acumen and clear understanding of market trends, competition, and culture. Ability to have a โ€œbig pictureโ€ perspective and able to design, implement, and manage complex processes from a strategic and operational perspective, leveraging data and analytics for decision making.

Language Requirements: Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English. Working knowledge of Spanish, Portuguese, or French is a plus.

Requirements

Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries. We may offer assistance with relocation and visa applications for you and your eligible dependents. Type of contract and duration

International staff contract, 36 months initially, renewable upon mutual agreement.
