The Children's Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF) is seeking a highly skilled and dynamic individual to join our team as the Director, Programme Excellence, India. CIFF is an independent organization that works to transform and empower the lives of poor and vulnerable children and adolescents in developing countries, with the ultimate goal of solving seemingly intractable challenges to ensure all children and adolescents have the chance to survive and thrive. With a focus on India, the Director, Programme Excellence will play a critical role in leading and overseeing our programs to ensure maximum impact and efficiency.
As the Director, Programme Excellence, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to improve programme effectiveness and ensure delivery of high-quality interventions. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify and implement best practices, monitor and evaluate program outcomes, and drive innovation to achieve sustainable change. Additionally, you will provide guidance and support to program staff, build and maintain strategic partnerships, and represent CIFF at national and international forums.
This is a senior leadership role within CIFF and the India team to drive commercial problem-solving and solution generation through cost and effectiveness optimization, and strategic sustainability modelling solutions, and in so doing be part of the pivot towards long-term systems change in driving costs of programmes down to increase government uptake.ย

Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the implementation of CIFF's programs in India, ensuring their alignment with organizational goals and objectives, with a cost optimization lens
- Develop and implement strategies to improve program effectiveness, efficiency, and sustainability
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, non-profit organizations, and academic institutions
- Monitor and evaluate program outcomes, using data to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement
- Provide guidance and support to program staff, ensuring their professional development and adherence to best practices
- Act as a valued advisor/sounding board and mentor to colleagues whose advice is valued and proactively sought out by senior leaders
- Drive innovation and promote the adoption of evidence-based interventions for maximum impact
- Represent CIFF at national and international forums, advocating for policies and practices that support the well-being of children and adolescents
Requirements
- Master's degree in a relevant field, such as public health, social sciences, or development studies
- Experienced senior leader with experience in program management and implementation, and comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the Indian and international development sector with sound political judgement.ย ย ย
- Proven track record of identifying and delivering execution improvements through stakeholder engagement, data analysis, understanding of context changes, etc.ย ย
- a combination of advanced technical knowledge and experience of influencing complex systems, with a nimble problem-solving mindset, and is highly motivated using performance management techniques to maximise results.ย
- Experience of identifying and delivering business process improvementsย
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making
- Demonstrated experience in monitoring and evaluation, and the use of data for program improvement
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders
- Proven ability to work in complex and fast-paced environments, with a high degree of adaptability and resilience
