Position Overview

The Director, International Talent Acquisition oversees the full life cycle recruitment in sourcing the best talent for the United Nations Foundation and securing the best top talent internationally. The Director, International Talent Acquisition oversees all non-U.S. HR acquisitions and is directly responsible for foreign-based employees and contract workers. Responsible for direct sourcing and recruitment across UNF.

This position is based in Washington, DC (hybrid schedule).

Essential Functions

Provide professional expertise and support in the design, development, and implementation of the international talent review process that is required to achieve business goals and results in the creation of an internal bench of top talentCollect, analyze, and maintain data gathered to inform targeted leadership development (e.g., DEI, succession planning, ATS statistics, job board success, etc.).Serve as a business partner with hiring managers to develop effective sourcing and recruitment strategies. Develop effective relationships within the organization and the hiring community to have influence and impact the recruiting process and hiring. Develop, initiate, and maintain effective programs for workforce retention.Manage the maintenance and execution of current job descriptions and assessments instruments.Create and maintain an environment of equal employment opportunity, diversity and competitive advantage in support of the UNF’s diversity and inclusion strategic plan.Conduct presentations and trainings.Ensure that organization-wide talent management are focused and aligned on improving operational and program efficiencies and effectiveness.Recruit full-time, part-time, temporary, contractual and intern personnel. Manage full life cycle recruitment (post, source, prescreen, schedule, background, references, offer, onboarding, etc.). Complete hiring process within defined metrics to minimize overall time-to-start. Develop appropriate marketing strategies, define roles and responsibilities of hiring team, and develop effective and efficient recruitment lifecycle while minimizing cost-per-hire.Work closely with the team to collect and coordinate aggregate data for talent pool and translate those data into insights through data analysis that drives deliberate action plans at the appropriate levels.Develop and implement creative and innovative sourcing strategies and techniques to build a pipeline of qualified candidates.Responsible for implementation of international assignment agreements, hiring of local nationals outside the United States and handling expatriate tax issues.Maintain working knowledge of the UNF agreement process (for both contracts and grants), and when to utilize the proper templates accordingly. (As applicable to the role)Draft and review agreements and maintain an understanding of all agreement terms and applicable flow-downs, consulting with UNF’s finance/contracts team as needed. (As applicable to the role)Attend training sessions provided by UNF’s contracts team to maintain and keep up to date with UNF’s current policies and procedures. (As applicable to the role)Maintain a strong knowledge of UNF’s Salesforce database to be able to process and track agreements, extract information and prepare reports. Selection Criteria

Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent years of experience.10+ years of broad HR experience, international relations or other business-related field or an equivalent amount of experience in talent management, including at least 6 years of international human resources experienceBachelor's degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent years of experienceRecent experience recruiting in multiple discipline areas and levels, including hiring for non-exempt, exempt and leadership positionsExperience designing, developing and supporting organization-wide talent management programs that cover, talent development, coaching, succession planning, data analytics and relationship managementPrevious experience in capturing metrics and producing various employment reportsExperience in all areas of sourcing such as the internet, social media, networking employee referrals, job postings, as well as conducting open houses and virtual job fairsExperience in working with applicant tracking systems and affirmative action plan requirementsSuperior verbal and written communication skillsProficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related softwareExcellent interpersonal, counseling, and negotiation skillsStrong presentation skillsStrong analytical and critical thinking skillsThorough understanding of recruiting methods and best practices, as well as applicable policies and federal, state, and local employment laws and regulationsAbility to design and implement full-cycle performance management programsAbility to work under pressure and handle stressAbility to meet regular attendance/tardiness policyFluency in second language preferred
