About this position
We are looking for an experienced transmedia strategist and social media account management consultant to join our communications team! As a Digital Communications Strategist Consultant your main duty will be to develop, implement and manage digital communication strategies that contribute to achieving overall communication goals of the IDB Senior Executives, ensuring effective communication and a positive public image in both English and Spanish/Portuguese speaking regions.
You might work in the Executive Communications team part of Knowledge, Innovation and Communication Sector. This team is responsible for supporting the communications of the Office of the President, producing speeches, talking points, op-eds, background information for interviews, and develop cross-cutting messages to help position the work of the IDB Group. The team maintains close coordination with the Communications Division, within the Knowledge, Innovation and Communications Sector, to ensure proper alignment and coordination of all communication efforts with our country offices, operational sectors, corporate functions, IDB Lab and IDB Invest.
The Communications Division (DCC) of the Knowledge, Innovation and Communications Sector (KIC) uses digital intelligence, data, and creativity to help position the IDB Group as the preferred partner for development in the region. DCC works with traditional and digital channels to help give visibility to stories of impact in the region.
What youโll do:
We are seeking a Digital Communications Strategist Consultant to develop and manage digital transmedia strategies that contribute to achieve overall communication goals by providing expert advice and day to day execution.
The consultant will provide oversight to the implementation of the transmedia strategies working alongside other colleagues in the Digital Cluster and sector/country communicators, guaranteeing effective execution:
- Develop an in-depth knowledge of the IDB Sectors/Country Departmentsโ business objectives, strategies, and their competitive landscape.
- Work with communicators to define digital communication objectives and set up KPIs to track SMART goals.
- Advise on digital and transmedia opportunities.
- Coordinate the day-to-day operations of projects, including communication briefings, scope, and project management with the digital production team.
- Analyze effectiveness of digital and transmedia campaigns.
- Prepare and present reports on their progress.
- Keep abreast of new trends in digital and transmedia communications.
- Develop solid working relationships and seek high professional and ethical standards.
What you'll need
- Education: bachelorโs degree or certifications in Communications, Marketing, Multimedia, Digital Marketing, Inbound Marketing, Marketing Cloud, Social Media Ads or another related digital communications field.
- Experience: At least 2 years of relevant experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience in multimedia, Inbound Marketing, Marketing Cloud, Social Media Ads, or another related digital communications field. Or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Proven proficiency in both English and Spanish/Portuguese, with a portfolio that showcases media communications in both languages
- Languages: Proficiency in English and one of the other Bank official languages (Spanish, French or Portuguese) is required.

Requirements:
- Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries.
- Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.

- Type of contract: International Consultant Full-Time.
