Work LocationAmman Expected duration2 MONTHS Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe Office of the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General for Yemen (OSESGY) is mandated to support efforts toward an inclusive political settlement and to advance peace in Yemen. In pursuit of this mandate, the Mission engages with a wide range of Yemeni and international stakeholders and places strategic communications at the core of its work to promote dialogue, transparency, and trust. To ensure that its messages reach and resonate with diverse audiences, OSESGY requires strengthened digital and multimedia capacity. The role of visual storytelling, creative campaigns, and dynamic social media outreach has become increasingly important in raising awareness of the Missionโs activities and in supporting its mandate. This consultancy has therefore been established to provide additional support to OSESGYโs Strategic Communications and Public Information Office (SCPIO), particularly in producing high-quality multimedia materials, enhancing the Officeโs digital presence, and ensuring consistent brand identity across all platforms. By delivering these outputs, the consultant will reinforce OSESGYโs communication objectives and help broaden the Officeโs outreach to Yemeni, regional, and international audiences in line with its mandate. The consultant will work under the overall supervision of the Chief, Strategic Communications and Public Information Office (SCPIO). The incumbent will report directly to the Public Information Officer (P3) and will collaborate closely with all members of the SCPIO team as well as colleagues across other sections of OSESGY to ensure coherent and coordinated delivery of outputs. The duties to be performed: 1- Contribute to OSESGYโS Visual and Multimedia Content Production: Work closely with SCPIO members to strategize and implement innovative approaches to effectively convey OSESGYโs mission and key messages. Develop creative content, enhancing audience engagement across various digital platforms, and crafting impactful narratives that resonate with diverse stakeholders Identify emerging communication trends, and ensure all materials align with OSESGYโs strategic communication objectives. Produce visually appealing and audience-appropriate videos, graphics and animations for various platforms. Collaborate on crafting and implementing strategic OSESGY SCPIO campaigns that effectively communicate tailored messages to engage key audience segments. 2- Assist in Enhancing Audience Engagement and Social Media Management Develop and execute social media plans aimed at enhancing audience engagement and optimizing platform performance for OSESGY. Support the creation of content that aligns with OSESGYโs mission, employing a diverse mix of formatsโsuch as visual media, storytelling, and interactive postsโto ensure content remains fresh, relevant, and impactful. Assist in monitoring social media channels and media coverage relevant to the work of OSESG, tracking key developments, trends, and public sentiment. 3- Brand Identity and Digital Presence Support Assist in managing and enhancing OSESGYโs visual brand and digital products to ensure cohesive, impactful representation across all platforms. Support the design and production of digital assets, including logos and other branded visuals, to ensure a consistent and professional representation of OSESGY Ensure layouts, photos and other visual elements align with brand and quality standards. Qualifications/special skillsAdvanced University Degree (masterโs or equivalent degree) in in public relations, communications, marketing, journalism, international development, business management or related fields is required. A degree in graphic design or visual art is desirable. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. A minimum of two years of experience in public information, journalism, international relations, digital media or related areas is required. Proven experience in engaging content creation and using design and multimedia software, such as InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Canva, Premiere, and/or After Effects is required Experience in photo editing, retouching and creating visually appealing images using Photoshop or any similar editing software is required. Knowledge of the Yemeni digital media landscape is required. LanguagesEnglish and French are the working languages of the UN Secretariat. For the position advertised, English and Arabic are required.
