Major Function
The Development Officer collaborates closely with the Philanthropic Partnerships team to monitor and oversee the stewardship and internal financial tracking of key foundation grants across all of WWFโs programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Works with Program and Program Operations staff at WWF-US to develop required technical and financial reports for foundation donors, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and guidelines. Works with relevant staff to help create timelines for completion of donor reporting requirements.
- Tracks reporting requirements for grants in assigned portfolio, ensuring all systems are up to date (ex. CRM, SmartSimple) with deadlines for upcoming reports and other stewardship correspondence, such as updates to donors, emails, etc. Ensures reminders are sent to relevant Program, Program Operations, and other staff for upcoming deliverables.
- Regularly meets with Program Operations staff to track financial spending on foundation grants in assigned portfolio and the internal subgrant agreement process within the WWF Network.
- In conjunction with the appropriate Philanthropic Partnerships team member, helps manage the stewardship of specific WWF Network Development grant opportunities, including tracking financial spending, technical and financial reporting, subgrant agreements with other WWF Network offices, etc.
- Maintains strong relationships with key Program and Program Operations staff at WWF-US. Communicates and interacts regularly with Program staff, Program Operations, Finance and Accounting Departments, and other Development staff members. Works in close collaboration with the Philanthropic Partnerships team.
- Provides research and copy edit support on proposals, reports, and other correspondence for members of the Philanthropic Partnerships team, as needed.
- Performs other duties and takes on other responsibilities as required according to organizational needs.
Skills and Abilities
- A Bachelorโs degree or equivalent experience is required.
- Position requires a minimum of four years of demonstrated success in administrative or fundraising roles.
- Excellent organizational ability and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including copyediting and report writing.
- Ability to be adaptable, flexible, and responsive.
- Comfortable with complex budgets.
- Intercultural communication skills.
- Committed to building and strengthening a culture of inclusion and collaboration within and across teams.
- Knowledge of development and best practices regarding donor stewardship.
- Experience with donor/CRM databases and Excel.
- Knowledge of conservation and/or international development issues is preferred.
- International experience and knowledge of another language are pluses.
- Strong foundational knowledge of WWFโs conservation mission, goals, and organizational structure is a plus.

Qualifications

- Must have strong intercultural communication skills.

- Experience with donor/CRM databases and MS Office suite.
- International experience and fluency in Spanish (written and spoken) are pluses.
- Strong foundational knowledge of WWFโs conservation mission, goals, and organizational structure is a plus.

This is a hybrid position that requires 2-days minimum in the WWF Washington, DC HQ office.
