What you will be doing
The purpose of the Country Office Support Manager position is to ensure that all support functions across the areas of operation (Camps Area, Host Community Area and Country Office) are providing high quality and efficient support for program implementation, as well as in support of the MENA regional team and regional projects.ย
The Country Office Support Manager ensures the integrated and efficient delivery of country support services across Human Resources, Finance, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Administration, and Logistics; leading day-to-day planning, directly managing support staff, coordinating activities and plans of action and driving compliance with NRC policies, donor rules, and internal controls.ย
This role offloads the direct management and oversight responsibilities across Support functions from the Country Director, while ensuring day to day operational follow up on support services and teams. The position holder is responsible for ensuring optimal service delivery by monitoring set Key Performance Indicators, troubleshooting operational bottlenecks, and escalating risks and strategic issues as needed.ย
Key responsibilities:
Contribute as a member of the Country Management Group (CMG) providing support and information on relevant topics and influencing decisions for support matters.
Facilitate and coordinate the development of the support functionโs strategic objectives in the Country Strategy and support unit action plans.
Oversee the re-centralization of support services to the country office as well as the extension of NRC Jordanโs support services to NRCโs regional team, NRC hosted staff and regional projects, working alongside the Area Managers and Regional Head of Operational Support as applicable.
Contribute to the implementation of the NRC Jordan Country Strategy, with a focus on efficient systems, cost effectiveness, and workforce management, by ensuring departmental workplans are in place and progress is monitored.
Provide input on operational support in programme proposal development, coordinate and align operational support with programme plans, ensuring that all support functions are providing quality and timely support for project implementation.
Support the development and monitoring of the support budget and country budgets in coordination with the Finance Manager and internal key stakeholders; while ensuring that regular financial analysis is carried out including assessments, costs monitoring, and resource allocation.
Coordinate and collaborate with relevant stakeholders on the strategic development of country structures to ensure alignment against global guidelines and standards.
Provide support in the development, adaptation, and implementation of country support Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), guidelines, and tools.
Line management responsibilities for directly reporting staff including performance management and staff development. Foster and facilitate organisational learning, specifically in relation to support thematics.
Ensure compliance and adherence to NRC policies, guidance and procedures, and a specific responsibility for all support functionsโ policies and procedures.
What you will bring
Bachelorโs degree in business administration, Management, or any other relevant field.
Minimum 3 yearsโ experience in a senior management position, preferably within in a humanitarian/recovery context with a background and expertise in Support functions. Experience in Logistics, budget development and costs allocation would be good.
A Self-starterย capable of developing the position, has strong internal communication skills as well as great interpersonal skills and people management/leadership capability.
Demonstrated interest in innovation and learning.
Fluency in English, both written and verbal. Arabic language skills are an added advantage.
Knowledge of the context in Jordan.

Duty station: Amman, Jordan
Contract: Until 30 April 2026 renewable based on funding and performance
Travel: 20% in-country travel to NRC areas of operations
Salary/benefits: Grade 9 on NRC's grading structure. ย
