About the Program:

The NDC Partnership brings together 126 countries, developed and developing, and 96 institutional members to create and deliver on ambitious NDCs that help achieve the Paris Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Governments identify their NDC implementation priorities and the type of support that is needed to translate them into actionable policies and programs. Based on these requests, the membership offers a tailored package of expertise, technical assistance, and funding. This collaborative response provides developing countries with efficient access to a wide range of resources to adapt to, mitigate climate change, and foster more equitable and sustainable development. What you will do:

In this role, you will be responsible for the execution of a project to enhance the internal data collection systems of the Country Engagement Team. This work will involve collaborating with members of the Country Engagement team to identify data management issues and discrepancies, evaluate team needs for data to better assess impact across key work areas, build systems and corresponding processes to respond to data needs including the standardization of procedures for collecting data, build team awareness around the importance of data, and strengthen team ownership. You will also be responsible for developing and implementing a standard taxonomy for internal information management. You will report to the Country Engagement Analyst and Country Engagement Monitoring & Evaluation Focal Point who will oversee the execution of the project and provide strategic guidance on approaches to data collection and management. You will also work closely with individuals across the Support Unit who manage organizational data collection and reporting.

Internship Learning Outcomes:

Conduct a scoping assessment to evaluate existing data discrepancies and duplications in the Country Engagement systems.Support the Country Engagement Analyst and Country Engagement Monitoring & Evaluation Focal Point in carrying out a series of focus group discussions with the Country Engagement Team and broader Support Unit to identify the data needs of various users. Lead the identification of key Country Engagement metrics relevant to tracking the impact of our work including commonly requested metrics for donor reporting and routine partner engagement.Design enhanced internal data collection tools using Monday.com that address the needs and concerns identified in the scoping assessment, focus groups, and other targeted discussions.Audit the Country Engagement Teamโ€™s internal and external file management system (SharePoint), development and implement a standard taxonomy for file management Support in training Country Engagement staff in interacting with enhanced data systems.

What you will need:

Undergraduate degree in STEM (e.g., Environmental Science, Data Science, Information Systems, etc.)Recent graduates strongly desired.Demonstrable working or professional experience with project management and information management.Proficiency with Microsoft suite (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook); experience with SharePoint.Available to work Eastern Standard Time (UTC-5).Experience with project or information management software, in particular Monday.com.Experience in leading or supporting capacity building exercises.Basic understanding of, or interest, in international climate change and sustainable development.

Compensation

The pay for this internship opportunity is $20 for undergrads and $22 for graduates.

This is a full-time, 6-month internship with a flexible start and end date.

Location:

This is a remote-based internship with the option to work out of the Washington D.C. office once it reopens.WRI will provide a laptop for the duration of your internship.
