Position Overview

The Coordinator, UNA-USA provides support for the UNA-USA Fellowship Initiative, which encourages a more diverse applicant pool and cultivates a new generation of Americans interested in working for the United Nations and its agencies. Launched in January 2023, this program provides financial support to interns of the United Nations (UN), who apply for this scholarship through UNA-USA.

Consideration is given to American students from colleges and universities that have been underrepresented in the past, including those from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), Hispanic Serving Institutions, Tribal Colleges and Universities, Schools for the Deaf and Blind, etc.

This is a part-time, 1-year term remote position working a maximum of 29 hours per week at $20 per hour.

Essential Functions

Support UNA-USA Fellowship Initiative operations (e.g., send announcements, schedule meetings, respond to inquiries, send communications to program applicants and participants, maintain website content, etc.).Expand/maintain the targeted list of contacts at colleges to promote the UNA-USA Fellowship Initiative.Research organizations, programs and conferences that support underrepresented groupsWork with UNA-USA communications staff to develop marketing materials and social media posts.Conduct outreach to target lists to promote UNA-USA Fellowship InitiativeDraft MOUs for submission into Salesforce.Work with UNA-USA Youth Engagement Manager to coordinate and engage UNA-USA Fellows. Other duties as assigned

Selection Criteria

Bachelorโ€™s degree in relevant field.1-3 years of relevant experienceSolutions oriented and able to manage competing priorities.Ability to work under pressure and handle stress.Ability to meet regular attendance/tardiness policy.Must be available to work on a part-time basis with a maximum of 29 hours per week
