Position Overview:The Electric Mobility program at WRI India aims to accelerate transport electrification in India, to reduce urban air pollution and support the decarbonization of the sector. We work with national and state level governments, industry stakeholders and technical bodies across a range of projects spanning from research to policy formulation and on-ground implementation. With the growing impetus from the Government of India on the transition to electric vehicles, the E-Mobility team at WRI India offers an exciting and challenging work experience in which dynamic individuals will thrive and grow. This position is for a Consultant with the Electric Mobility program, to accelerate the transition to electric mobility in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. The consultantโs scope of work will comprise of the following activities:
- Support the team with accelerating e-mobility initiatives in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, with a focus on freight electrification, e-tractors, e-mobility policies, charging infrastructure, and 2W/3W electrification.
- Develop and strengthen engagement with state government, industry and other stakeholders in UP and Bihar, to accelerate e-mobility initiatives in the states.
- Develop strategic communications pieces for effectively promoting e-mobility with relevant stakeholder groups.
- Plan and execute multi-stakeholder workshops with participation from high-level government and non-government stakeholders in UP and Bihar.
- Get buy-in from government and enable implementation of e-mobility initiatives in the two states.
- Develop media engagement in UP and Bihar to publish op-eds and get televised appearances on e-mobility by WRI India experts.
- Organise high-level delegation visits for WRI India and partners to UP and Bihar to meet with bureaucratic/ ministerial leadership in the states. Qualifications and requirements:
- Masterโs Degree in public policy, transport planning/ engineering, technical communications, or other relevant discipline.
- 10+ years of relevant work experience in the consultancy/ development sector, with at least 2 years of work experience on e-mobility.
- Strong experience with stakeholder engagement and strategic communications.
- Experience working with multiple stakeholder at various levels of government.
- Experience in writing brief technical notes and reports and developing visually appealing presentations.
- Native proficiency (spoken and written) in English and Hindi.
- Ability to receive and incorporate constructive feedback effectively.
- Experience working on projects with a track record of delivering at or ahead of deadlines.
- Should be self-motivated, and be able to lead and undertake initiatives with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with ability to plan projects and activities, work to tight deadlines, and manage conflicting priorities.
- Ability to work in a team towards achieving a larger organizational level goals. Salary and Benefits: Salary shall be commensurate with experience and skills.
