This is a maternity cover which envisaged to run from September 2025 to September 2026.
This is a hybrid position which requires 8 days per month in the office. You can be based in our WRI Europe office in the Hague or London. Existing work authorization is required at the time of application submission.
About the Program:
The Food and Land Use Coalition (FOLU) is a self-governed Coalition of organisations and individuals working collaboratively to achieve a shared objective: the urgent transformation of food and land use systems to deliver a better future for people, nature and climate. FOLU supports science-based solutions and helps to build a shared understanding of the challenges and opportunities to unlock collective, ambitious action.
The Knowledge and Engagement team leads research and multi-stakeholder engagement to accelerate the transformation of agri-food value chains.
1. Foster deeper and broader collaboration to transition value chains, through engagement and insights.
2. Deepen analysis and engagement in the soy and rice value chains to accelerate progress through collective action.
3. Co-create a shared understanding of the critical blockers and enablers to value chain transformation for all actors within the value chain.
4. Deep dive into a subset of the above to start to build broader consensus as to how best to progress a transition.
5. Take learnings from the dialogues to develop shared โcalls to actionโ for critical stakeholders.
6. Identify high potential opportunities for further research and engagement.
Job Highlight:
Reporting to the Global Knowledge and Engagement Director, you will be an integral part of the knowledge and engagement team, leading FOLUโs value chains engagement with key internal and external stakeholders. You will deliver research, coordinate consultations to strengthen FOLUโs outputs and work with partners to co-design dialogues that bring together critical stakeholders on food systems transformation. In addition, you will translate learnings into technical briefs for external audiences, contribute to and lead on knowledge products and identify opportunities for future research and engagement. You will integrate equity into your work.
You will be housed within FOLU and based at the World Resources Institute (one of FOLUโs core partners).
What you will do:
Delivery (70%):
- Lead the delivery of research to inform FOLUโs engagement strategy, with input from partner organisations. This will involve gathering inputs from coalition and external stakeholders and synthesising information to draw out key insights
- Work with key FOLU partners to design and deliver multi-stakeholder workshops to drive progress on critical topics. In 2025, this will include multi-stakeholder workshops on the soy sector with a focus on Brazil and China. The work will involve hosting regular meetings and ensuring that partner workstreams are on-track, on budget and well-coordinated to deliver objectives
- Act as lead author of technical briefs summarizing the outputs of the multi-stakeholder dialogues. This will involve defining a clear target audience with FOLU partners and synthesizing input from different partners and managing a sign-off process, and if desired, a publication process
- Contribute to and lead on FOLU knowledge products. This will involve collaborating with others to design, develop and consult on key knowledge products
- Support annual work planning processes by identifying opportunities for further research and engagement and collaborating with FOLU partners to develop shared workplans and budgets
Thought leadership and strategy (20%):
- Support development and implementation of FOLU strategies for business engagement and financial institution engagement
Fundraising (10%):
- Support the development of fundraising concepts to support key strategies within FOLU. This will involve working closely with the Head of Business Engagement, and Knowledge and Engagement Director.
What you will need:
- Education: You have a completed bachelorโs degree in Environment Studies/Science, Agriculture/Food Systems, international development, Economics or a related area. Relevant work experience in lieu of degree is accepted.
- Experience: You have 6+ years of project management experience, including in a multi-stakeholder context
- Demonstrated knowledge of food and land use systems
- Stakeholder management experience
- Experience preparing presentations and written communications for diverse audiences
- Experience distilling insights and data points into useful outputs that can be shared with stakeholders
- Proven track record in working with and managing inputs from multiple stakeholders to achieve deliverables
- Experience working with qualitative and quantitative research methods
- Experience of leading writing of external research products
- Experience in managing budgets
- Languages: You have proficiency in written and spoken English
- Requirements: Existing work authorization is required where this position is based. WRI is unable to authorize visa work authorization.
Potential Salary:
If based in the Netherlands: โฌ57,000 โ โฌ71,000
If based in the UK: ยฃ45,000 - ยฃ56,000
Salary is commensurate with experience and other relevant factors.
