About this position:
We are looking for a consultant to support the work of the Regional Integration Unit (RIU) of the IDBโs Integration and Trade Sector, with particular emphasis on the implementation and monitoring of roadmaps of regional integration initiatives and the agenda of RIU's work with integration initiatives and/or regional agendas.
You will work in RIU part of the IDB's Integration and Trade Sector (INT). This team is responsible for: (i) leading the Bank's work in relation to strategic integration initiatives that require a multi-sector approach, promoting synergies and ensuring the progress of the initiatives and the participation of the private sector in them; (ii) designing and implementing operations and technical assistance in the area of regional integration in collaboration with other sectors and areas of the Bank; (iii) developing knowledge products in the area of regional integration; and (iv) strengthening the institutional capacity of relevant and multisectoral regional integration initiatives in Latin America and the Caribbean.
What youโll do:
ยท Support in the implementation and monitoring of roadmaps of regional integration initiatives, including support in the identification and prioritization of integration initiatives and the operational management of the intervention programs of the prioritized initiatives.
ยท Support in the monitoring of work plans and specific support to subregional integration initiatives such as the Pacific Alliance, CARICOM, the Andean Community, MERCOSUR, PROSUR and SICA/SIECA, including the management of communications, agendas, schedules, and activities to comply with the work plans of the integration initiatives and the production of progress reports, presentations and communication pieces that are required.
ยท General support to RIU through processing of technical cooperation projects, administration of administrative resources, monitoring of work plans of the different teams, production of reports, presentations and inputs and participation in internal meetings and with external clients on issues relevant to the work of the Unit when required.
What you'll need:
ยท Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in international relations, political science, economics, engineering or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role.
ยท Experience: At least 2 years of progressive experience in development issues.
ยท Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.

Requirements:
ยท Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries.
ยท Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
