OVERVIEW OF THE FUNCTIONS OF THE POST
In line with the communication guidelines of UNESCO, under the supervision of the Executive Officer and guidance from the Social Media Consultant for UNESCOโs Social and Human Sciences Sector (SHS), the intern shall perfom the follwong tasks based on communication priorities:
- Assist with preparations for communication and social media campaigns, including conceptualizing and creating visual content such as graphics, banners, and multimedia assets.
- Assist with editing, translating, and publication of content for the web and media and any other required material in English and French, and other languages if possible.
- Support the design and layout of digital and print communication materials, ensuring adherence to UNESCOโs brand identity and communication standards.
- Assist with the updating of the SHS Calendar of events, including follow-up on upcoming events from Headquarters and the Field.
- Edit content, contact colleagues involved to obtain a detailed list of upcoming events, and provide assistance to colleagues according to needs.
- Use graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva) to produce engaging and professional visuals for campaigns and reports.
- Additional activities that may be required to help with the work of the team.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
At the time of your application to the internship programme:
- You are currently enrolled in a graduate programme (Masterโs degree, PhD, or equivalent, second university degree or higher).
- You have recently graduated with a Masterโs degree or PhD (or second degree as defined above), 12 months prior to the start of the internship.
- Studies in fields related to Communications, Media, Journalism, Marketing, International Relations.
- Excellent knowledge of English (written and spoken). Knowledge of French, and/or any other UNESCO official language(s) (Arabic, Chinese, Russian, Spanish) will be an asset.
- Computer literacy (i.e. Microsoft Teams, etc.).
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
- Background in Communications, Media, Journalism, Marketing, International Relations, or related fields.
- Strong writing and editing skills (clear, engaging, and adapted to different audiences).
- Familiarity with social media platforms.
