The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Representation in the Republic of Korea is inviting applications for the Fundraising Communication internship program in line with the long-term growth plan of the private sector fundraising program.
The position
The intern will assist fundraising communications and public engagement programs of UNHCR Korea Private Sector Partnership (PSP) Team in its efforts to communicate the UNHCRโs field activities to support and protect refugees with individual donors, partners and public through various online/offline media platforms, including its website, offline newsletters, UNHCR Koreaโs official Naver blog, Youtube, and other social media channels, and to increase engagement and cultivate financial/non-financial supporters through public engagement events.
The ideal candidate should possess strong written and spoken communication skills in both Korean and English, with the ability to translate between the two languages. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, image editing skills using Adobe Photoshop, and desirable video editing skills using Adobe Premiere are also prerequisites. Furthermore, familiarity with UNHCR's works and a solid understanding of humanitarian issues are important qualifications for this position.
Duties and responsibilities
1. Support in Fundraising Communication Material and Content Production
a) Research on relevant information for Fundraising communication material and content production
b) Naver Blog content production (researching, drafting, editing videos and images, etc.)
c) Editing or Producing interactive social media content (card news, short video clips, etc.)
2. Regular Monitoring/Reporting
a) Daily media monitoring of fundraising-related news and activities
b) Weekly monitoring of UNHCR HQ and peer organizationsโ online communication/brand fundraising activities
c) Naver Blog monthly performance tracking report
3.Support in Organizing Public Engagement Offsite/Online Event (upon request)
a) Assistance in producing event PR/communication materials
b) Event materials maintenance
c) Admin/logistics support
d) Onsite/Digital event support
4. Other tasks
a) Admin/logistics support (printing, laminating, purchasing small items, etc)
b) PSP Storage maintenance
c) Any other tasks relevant to the position scope as requested by supervisors
Minimum qualifications required
In order to be considered for an internship, candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria:
โข Be either a recent graduate (having completed their studies within two years of applying) or a current student in a graduate/undergraduate school programme from a university or higher education facility accredited by; and
โข Have completed at least two years of undergraduate studies in a field relevant or of interest to the work of UNHCR.
Desirable qualifications and skills
โข Strong written and spoken communication skills in Korean and English; able to translate English to Korean and vice versa
โข Familiarity with Microsoft Word
โข Image editing skills using Adobe photoshop
โข Video editing skills using Adobe Premiere is highly desirable
โข Understanding about UNHCR's works and humanitarian issues
Conditions
It is a full-time role with working hours starting from 9.00am to 6:00pm Monday to Friday (40 hours per week). The successful candidate will be assigned to support the team in the Republic of Korea.
Allowance: Interns who do not receive financial support from an outside party will receive an allowance to partially help to cover the cost of food, local transportation and living expenses.
