Assignment Duration:
6 months, subject to extension based on Satisfactory performance, Fund availability & Business need.
JOB PURPOSE:
To provide nutrition-related research and specialized communications services that support the creation of nutrition content and services aimed at maintaining and enhancing WFPโs nutrition communication efforts, and visibility including support to social behavioral change communication and awareness raising activities and campaigns. The incumbent will be working closely with the nutrition and communication unit to support the preparation for and implementation of national nutrition communication activities, under national initiatives such as Bedaya, 1000 million health, Geel bokra and others. The work will entail coordination with partners and counterparts to ensure WFPโs role is well implemented.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
- Gather and synthesize technical nutrition information and data on nutrition topics and initiatives, transforming them into engaging, easy-to-understand content suitable for social and mass media, infographics, newsletters, and other public-facing communication platforms.
- Develop, update, and maintain a library of nutrition messages in close coordination with the Head of Nutrition. These messages will serve as a basis for digital content, advocacy materials, and collaboration tools, ensuring alignment with WFPโs strategic priorities and evidence-based nutrition practices.
- Act as the focal point for nutrition awareness communication activities and campaigns. Lead on the conceptualization, planning, and roll-out of both digital and on-ground campaigns, including coordination with relevant internal and external stakeholders, development of campaign materials, timelines, and reporting, in alignment with donor commitments and joint plans with different partners.
- Represent the Communications Unit in meetings related to joint nutrition initiatives with other UN agencies, government bodies, NGOs, and other partners. Contribute communication inputs, ensure follow-up on actions, and align messaging across organizations.
- Serve as the communications focal point for nutrition-related events and activities, including high-level launches, community outreach activities, and school-based and other nutrition related interventions. Lead all aspects of event logistics, branding, material development, visibility, and coordination with relevant teams and vendors.
- Manage coordination with suppliers and service providers for the production of nutrition-related communication materials (e.g., banners, brochures, giveaways). Ensure timely delivery, quality control, and alignment with WFP branding guidelines. Ensure all admin related process are in place in alignment with WFPโs rules and regulations.
- Lead the development of creative concepts and communication plans for WFP's participation in global and national nutrition-related observances (e.g., World Breastfeeding Week, World Food Day). This includes proposing activities, content, and storytelling opportunities that elevate WFPโs work and impact.
- Support in tracking the reach and impact of nutrition communication activities. Compile insights, feedback, and lessons learned to inform future strategies and reporting requirements.
- Work with the head of nutrition to design and follow up on monitoring and evaluation of communication related activities and compile activity reports with analysis of findings and results. Provide regular monthly and quarterly reports on the nutrition communication activities, including analysis and recommendations.
Education:
Bachelor's or equivalent degree in Business Administration, International Relations
Marketing, Business Studies, Communications, Public relations,
Media, journalism, or any relevant field of study in the related functional area.
Language:
Fluency in both oral and written communication in the English and Arabic languages
Experience:
At least 6 years of experience in marketing, Communication, Digital Media or related fields. Experience in Nutrition Communications is an asset.
