FHI 360 is the prime implementer of USAID Indonesiaโs Tuberculosis Private Sector (TBPS) Activity which aims to contribute to national goals to reduce tuberculosis (TB) incidence and mortality by increasing the number of private provider clients who are correctly diagnosed, notified and receive quality TB services. The project is seeking a Communications and Knowledge Management Specialist to work in close collaboration on this Activity with its leadership and technical team in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Job Summary
The Communication and Knowledge Management Specialist is responsible for overseeing the utilization and communication of research and Activity learnings throughout the life of the project, including developing appropriate media communications such as project briefings, success stories, policy briefs, peer-reviewed journal articles, and online products (communications campaigns, social media, etc.). Under the supervision of MERLC Advisor, the incumbent will ensuring coordination between technical teams and field operation team to incorporate evidence from project activities into a comprehensive framework for research utilization, communication and learning. These include developing and implementing the TBPS Communications and Knowledge Management plan, with a particular focus on ensuring adequate dissemination and demonstrable use of the research findings and activity learnings.
Accountabilities:
- Leads development and implementation of communication strategies including continuous stakeholder engagement, knowledge exchange, public communications, policy advocacy, and capacity building.
- Serves as the liaison with internal and external partners related to communications or uptake to ensure effective collaboration efforts.
- Writes and edits technical reports and documents. Assists with publications, web pages, and presentations.
- Ensures strong knowledge management within the project, organizing not only the information produced directly by TBPS team but also by other key stakeholders in the field of TB and private sector engagement.
- Translate technical findings into user-friendly media products, such as infographics and policy briefs, aimed at non-technical audiences.
- Write, edit, and distribute content, including newsletters, success stories, press releases, website/social media content, and other communication material that communicates the project's activities, products and/or services.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with journalists, and maintain a media database.
- Seek opportunities to enhance the reputation of the brand, and coordinate publicity events as required.
- Maintain social media communications and records of media coverage, including development of media and communication products, social media engagement strategy, monitor engagement in social media and collate analytics and metrics.
- Develop and prepare or oversee development of innovative, evidence-based learning products and communications collaterals (e.g., web content, research summaries, case studies, learning briefs, presentations, infographics, etc.) to share findings and inform donor and stakeholders about health facilities, districts and provinces about progress and results in compliance with USAID Branding and Marking guidelines
- Contribute to the formulation and execution of project learning through the FHI 360 Research Utilization Framework, including involving relevant stakeholders in agenda formulation and strategic planning to address TBPS needs for evidence.
- Facilitate review of TBPS presentations, talking points and collaterals.
- Provide graphic design support to create posters, media campaigns, brochures and other visual communications.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Masterโs degree or its International Equivalent with at least 5 years of experiences, or Bachelorโs degree with at least 8 years of experiences in the areas of Health communications, knowledge management, behavioral/life/social sciences or a related field.
- Ideally, three years of experiences devoted specifically to facilitating research communications, uptake, and evidence-based decision making in health related projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, analytical software, Power BI (or other related data visualization software), design and publishing software.
- Experience in health communication design and planning is preferable.
- Articulate, professional and able to communicate in a clear, positive fashion with clients and staff.
- Must be a fluent communicator (written and oral) in English and in Bahasa Indonesia (IELTS, TOEFL or other scores accepted as available)
- Extensive experience working with ministries of health, private organization, civil society, NGOs, donors and other partners in using evidence-based research to inform policy, program and/or practice development or improvement.
- Familiarity with USAIDโs branding and marking guidelines and communications activities.
- Familiarity with the use and implementation of research communication strategies and strategic planning tools.
