In support of that mission, the Foundations team (CFT) manages Mercy Corpsโ relationships with major US foundations by co-creating strategically restricted grants and leading Big Bet proposal processes. We set bold agency-wide strategies, manage relationships with foundation partners, and support relationships initiated by our RD and program colleagues around the world.
The Position
The Campaign Program Manager will drive implementation of campaign elements, ensure team remains on track, report on progress against goals, ensure coordination between teams and departments, and manage distribution of flexible funds through proposed processes, in partnership with a fund manager. The Campaign Program Manager will work closely with campaign leadership, fundraising teams, management and support staff (including finance, administration and program) to ensure day-to-day activities are implemented according to schedule, budget, and required quality. The Campaign Program Manager will develop and provide regular team-wide updates and support campaign leadership and advisory committees with coordination and necessary reports. The Campaign Program Manager will assist the Senior Director, Foundation Partnerships and campaign leadership with a strategic plan for the implementation of the campaign, including identifying target areas/projects, methods of operation for effective programming and maximum results.
Essential Responsibilities
WORKPLAN MANAGEMENT
- Develop and manage implementation workplan and calendar which will be inclusive of various workstreams, including leadership/committee engagement, pipeline management, reporting, materials development, executive outreach, internal communications, and external communications.
- Track operations related to the campaign according to the work plan and implementation strategies.
- Troubleshoot, as needed, to prevent disruptions in activities.
COODRINDATION
- Manage and support weekly or bi-weekly campaign team meetings, including leadership and advisory committee and other structures as necessary.
TRACKING AND REPORTING COODRINDATION
- Share information with the climate campaign leadership to ensure overall project targets and donor obligations are being achieved. Troubleshoot on reporting and implementation needs. Advise supervisor on suggested improvements and necessities, as required.
- Work with campaign leadership and the Program Quality (PAQ) team to devise, track, and report on impact metrics.
- Coordinate with CFT grant support and development operations teams to ensure that all research, gifts, pledges, visit reports, notes are properly logged in the pipeline management system and in Raiserโs Edge.
- Draft campaign progress reports and develop and provide regular team-wide updates.
- Develop and support internal processes for pooled fund allocations, monitoring and tracking in coordination with the Programs team, campaign leadership, and the Climate Campaign Fund Manager.
PIPELINE AND FUNDRAISING SUPPORT
- Drive campaign activity through effective back-office support, including moves management, meeting preparation and briefings, and supporting drafting of outreach and follow-ups in coordination with frontline fundraisers.
- Provide project management support for preparations for trips and meetings (draft talking points, coordinate prep and follow up for ET members prior to meeting with a foundation donor).

Works Directly With: Directors of Foundation Partnerships, key stakeholders in Resource Development, Regional Program Team, including Program Officers, Country Directors, and Technical Advisors; Finance, and the Technical Support Unit.

Minimum Qualifications & Transferable Skills
- Proven ability to manage projects and competing priorities. Excellent project and work management skills: ability to organize, determine priorities, and follow through promptly.
- Bachelorโs degree
- 5+ years increasingly responsible work with program or fundraising teams. Fundraising campaign management experience, a plus.
- Outstanding written and verbal communications skills
- Excellent problem solving, interpersonal, and intercultural skills.
- Ability to work in teams to develop and execute strategy.
- Understanding of climate adaptation, international aid and development required
- Ability to handle multiple tasks with diverse strategic outcomes.
- Knowledge and proficiency at an intermediate or higher level of the Microsoft Office suite, including Teams, Sharepoint, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

The successful Climate Campaign Program Manager will be an outstanding project manager and relationship builder, particularly with internal Mercy Corps stakeholders. They will skillfully coordinate cross-functional teams to complete projects and work required to move relationships forward and help Mercy Corps reach its campaign goals. They will be able to articulate Mercy Corpsโ mission and engagement opportunities with passion and professionalism.
Living Conditions / Environmental Conditions
The position is U.S. based, open to remote, location subject to review and approval. Most of the team is based in Portland, OR, with representation in Washington, DC and a presence in NY.
Mercy Corps team members represent the agency both during and outside work hours when deployed in a field posting or on a visit/TDY to a field posting.
