FHI 360 is currently recruiting for the position of Chief of Party (COP) for an anticipated USAID-funded assistance mechanism that will build the local capacity to represent and address the needs of marginalized, under-represented populations and /or people living in vulnerable situations (MUGPVs). The proposed mechanism will enable USAIDโs Inclusive Development Hub and USAID Missions to support the priorities of MUGPVs and to mobilize specialized technical knowledge to build the capacity and effectiveness of local organizations to advance USAIDโs inclusive development objectives.
The COP will be the primary representative of the project and oversee staff and activity implementation while managing relationships with USAID Operating Units and Missions. This position is contingent on project funding.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Define strategic and technical direction for the activity, including the development and continual refinement of approaches, tools, specialized partnerships, monitoring, evaluation and learning approaches, etc.
Oversee grant-making activities with a focus on compliance, efficiency, and transparency.
Lead development of partnerships with MUGPV-led organizations at the regional and local level.
Serve as the main point of contact with USAID operating units and Missions.
Manage and continually strengthen the capacity of staff.
Oversee program operations, including management, finance, and contracts and grants.
Responsible for overall program quality, including developing co-design and consultative mechanisms to ensure active participation of MUGPV partners.
Oversee monitoring, evaluation, and learning activities and work with staff to adapt program activities to changing programmatic conditions.
Skills and Experience:
Bachelorโs Degree required with at least 5 years of relevant experience working with MUGPV; Masters preferred.
At least 12 years of experience of designing, leading, and implementing donor-funded programming.
Strong understanding of USG rules and regulations, including experience with donor-funded grantmaking.
Demonstrated ability to build strong partnerships with MUGPV-led or MUGPV-serving organizations.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to strategize, plan, and manage resources for successful completion of program activities.
Familiarity with key USAID policies including the Youth in Development Policy, LGBT Vision for Action, Disability Policy Paper, and other relevant guidance documents.
Ability to motivate, influence, and collaborate with others.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
