Purpose of Job
The Associate Director, CSG Ukraine Hub is responsible for coordinating support, or taking the lead, on a range of management, strategic and operational topics with a focus on the activities of donor supported projects in Ukraine in close cooperation with Donor Partnerships (DP), as well as issues related to cooperation between Banking/DP and other divisions within the Bank involved in such projects, in particular the operations & services department (OSM/Banking Services) and the Ukraine Donor Platform secretariat hosted by the European Commission. The key objective of the role is to work with the MD Impact & Partnerships and the MD Ukraine and Moldova to facilitate and participate in the effective and efficient management of the donor supported Ukraine transactions, and centralise information on the day-to-day management of the pipeline and on-going operations in Ukraine for donors, as well as to co-ordinate with other departments/units in the Bank (including senior management and the Board) and external stakeholders involved on the war response (EC, WB/IFC, IMF, EIB).
He/she will report to the MD Impact & Partnerships with a matrix reporting to the MD Ukraine and Moldova. It is expected that the AD will have a high commitment to the Bankโs mandate and institutional goals combined with the ability to foster an environment conducive to technical excellence, lead/contribute to strategic thinking for the Bank in its work in Ukraine, and provide leadership with a consistent approach towards clients and donors/shareholders.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Support the Bankโs work in Ukraine for donor supported transactions in particular:
โข Coordination on regular updates to the Board, donors, external parties (such as rating agencies);
โข Coordination of bank investments and donor flows: pipeline information, guarantee and donor information โ all centralised to ensure consistency of information โ one point of information for all donors and shareholders related to Ukraine;
โข Interact with shareholders, donors and other relevant counterparties (IFIs, EC) as needed and in close coordination with DP and other relevant teams;
โข Interact with relevant internal stakeholders and units to ensure consistency on communication of relevant information to the general public;
โข Draft briefings, reports and other documents concerning all areas related to donor supported transactions in Ukraine as well as lead on non-transactional donor funded projects;
โข Assist in reducing bottlenecks and workload specifically originated by the increased Ukrainian activity supported by donor guarantees;
โข Manage the staff associated with the CSG Ukraine Hub.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Essential Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
โข Senior level, relevant investment, finance experience coupled with sound understanding of the Bankโs mandate;
โข Sound understanding and good knowledge of issues related to banking projects (credit assessment, transition impact, additionality, etc.);
โข Relevant higher degree from a leading university;
โข Strong leadership, management, communication and interpersonal skills;
โข Proven business judgement and high ethical and professional standards;
โข Demonstrated ability to manage and complete transactions/projects;
โข Understanding of donor landscape and experience in working on donor funded activities;
โข Excellent time and project management skills;
โข Excellent business report writing skills;
โข Excellent English language skills (both written and oral).
