Purpose of Job
The Climate Risk Associate is an early-career position for professionals with around 4-6 relevant years of experience in climate (nature) coupled with solid financial risk analysis working in a global bank or top consulting firm.
This role supports the climate risk team by conducting foundational research and policy and process drafting, data analysis and collection, and preparing presentations under senior team supervision.
This is an ideal role for professionals with experience in climate financial risk or similar financial risk looking to further develop and specialized expertise their expertise further joining a leading dynamic hard-working team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial reviews of policy documents, climate risk methodologies, and regulatory frameworks
- Manage and track consultation processes, including:
- Compiling and organizing stakeholder comments
- Preparing summary documents of consultation feedback and presenting results to the team head
- Documenting consultation outcomes and potential implications
- Assist in refining and implementing climate and nature risk methodologies, reviewing tools under senior team guidance
- Conduct research and data collection for climate-related financial risk assessments
- Prepare comprehensive initial draft presentations and summary reports
- Translate complex climate guidelines into actionable operational practices from regulatory bodies
- Manage documentation and filing in line with internal control systems
- Prepare project reporting materials for governance meetings
Qualifications:
- Typically 4-6 years of experience in climate risk, nature risk, couple with experience working in credit/financial risk analysis
- Ability to create clear, concise, and compelling documentation
- Proven ability to review and synthesize complex policy documents such as translating policy and methodological documents
- Proficient in Excel and data management tools, including reviewing and understanding financial models.
- Experienced in preparing compelling executive style presentations in Power point quickly
- Sound familiarity with TCFD, ISSB, CSRD frameworks and requirements with some familiarity with TNFD, EU taxonomy and SDGs or similar useful.
- Excellent documentation and consultation management skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Very organised with ability to maintain rigorous documentation practices, ability to manage multiple consultation and documentation streams
- Knowledge of how a typical bank governance and understanding of executive-level communication standards
- Some proven experience in translating complex technical information into accessible language that is relevant to the role and Bank. Good understanding of context.
- Adaptable to evolving regulatory and methodological landscapes and shifting priorities
