Assistant Trees Outside Forest (TOF) Champions Consultant
Overview
Trees Outside Forest (TOF) Hub is a one-stop source for information and awareness on agroforestry systems. ToF Hub is envisaged as a facilitation center that will provide relevant information and extension support to farmers/stakeholders in ToF Domains like Prevailing and Possible Agroforestry Models, Facilitating QPM sourcing for farmers, and technical guidance/awareness for Agroforestry operations, etc.
The position is responsible for supporting the State team in the implementation of the Tress Outside Forest in India (TOFI) work plan in the given area /state.
Number of Positions: 28 (4 per state; Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bhubaneswar, Haryana, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, and Uttar Pradesh (Purely on a Job contract basis).
Duties and responsibilities
- Supervising labor work.
- Supervising labor work (Pit digging, pit filling, Staking, Basin Formation, and Irrigation).
- Assisting in soil sampling and collection.
- Assisting in planting and aftercare.
- Any work assigned by State Coordinator.
- Assisting State Team in Farmer Contact and Mobilization.
- Assisting TOF Lead Champions in the conduct of awareness camps and training programs.
- Demonstration of innovations /agroforestry models in fields.
- Conduct farmer baseline survey/Midline survey/end-line survey.
- Assisting team in Village survey and data collection.
Education, knowledge and experience
- 10+ 2 in science stream preferably biological sciences, Diploma in Forestry, Agriculture, or Horticulture will be an advantage.
- Age limit: Candidate is below 30 years.
- Experience in field operations.
- Desirable: Knowledge of Computer applications, two-wheeler and LMV driving licenses.
Terms and conditions
- This is a consultancy position.
- The initial consultancy contract will be for 6 months which is renewable upon satisfactorily performance.
- Work location: in the state when the project operates.
