Terms of ReferenceGeneral Background of Project or Assignment:
Public sector donors have uniformly insisted on greater and more varied visibility for their financial support to UNHCR. In a competitive and transactional fundraising environment, recognizing contributions in accordance with the contribution agreements and expressed donor preferences is critical to continued support. UNHCR are currently mobilizing efforts to focus on donor visibility – this would be a great opportunity for an individual seeking experience in donor relations, visibility, communications projects and being part of an evolving concept within the organization.

Overall Purpose and Scope of Assignment:
Experience in communications and content creation and an interest in donor relations, who can support the dedicated Donor Relations Officer (Visibility) in supporting UNHCR’s government donor visibility efforts. The ideal post-holder will be comfortable working in a fast-paced and reactive environment, have the skills and ability to support on creating content such as macros and competent editing publications and reports. Creativity is key in this role.
- Support the broad function of Donor Relations Officer (Visibility), following on from a 6 month internship experience in the same role
- Support with the management of the government partner Twitter account, with pre-planned tweets and reacting to requests, with clearance via the Head of DRRM when necessary
- Liaise with the emergencies function to receive new donor visibility video content and publish on the UNHCRgov Twitter account as required
- Using a handover, share content related to the annual Global and Flexible Funding Reports as well as the Underfunded Report and also on World Refugee Day
- Support with the creation of the final donor visibility monthly update using a pre-agreed template
- Working with the Head of DRRM, finalize the new donor visibility guidelines, publish on the intranet and share widely

Qualification and experience required
• Years of relevant experience with Graduate degree in International Relations, Political Science
• Experience in drafting communication content for external partners, graphic design, publication of social media contents
• Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages;
• Language: English and other UN language.

The final product:
Finalisation of the donor visibility guidelines. Sharing of the final donor visibility monthly update. Management of the UNHCRgov Twitter account including World Refugee Day, the Global Report, the Flexible Funding report and other requests.
