The Assistant Country Director โ Programs (ACD-P) position provides strategic leadership, programmatic direction, and technical design to ensure implementation of relevant, impactful, innovative and adaptive development and humanitarian portfolio. They will mainstream CARE's values and ensure adherence compliance with internal/external regulations in close collaboration with the operations, finance and internal control teams.
The position holder will contribute to the development and implementation of the overall Country Program Strategy to transition away from a humanitarian-focused portfolio with direct implementation to early recovery/development alternatives through local partners. They will provide support, supervision, mentoring and capacity building to program staff and implementation support staff (Project Management Unit). This person may serve as acting Country Director when necessary. and reports to the Country Director.

QUALIFICATIONS:
ร Advanced degree in peace/conflict studies, international relations, development studies, economics, social science, business administration, or public administration and relevant experience relevant to the job.
ร In depth knowledge of protracted displacement and development programs and approaches.
ร Proven success of building new programming through effective assessment and design.
ร Project and/or Program Management Certifications are highly desirable.
