Main purpose of the role
The DTS Team is responsible for effective management of CIFF\u2019s business applications as well as developing and adapting systems and processes to continually be more efficient, effective and relevant. The team own and manage the selection, implementation and development of new business systems and processes. They utilise effective project and change management methodology and controls to drive the evolution of data management within CIFF.
The Analyst \u2013 Business Intelligence role will report to Product Manager and work with the DTS team, programme teams and other global functions, to create data-driven solutions leveraging the Microsoft suite (i.e., Power BI, Azure, Power Platforms). The role will lead data storytelling within CIFF, transforming raw, often complex data into interactive dashboards and reports that provide clear, actionable insights and enable informed decision-making.
The role will lead the efforts to design and develop data models that effectively support business requirements; and ensuring dashboards and reports contain accurate and reliable data.

Strategy & planning
Designing and developing reports and dashboards: Understand business requirements, design the data model, and creatively develop visualizations that provide actionable insights. Understand business stakeholders\u2019 objectives, metrics that are most important to them, and how they measure performance. Translate data into highly leveraged and effective visualizations, to drive the automation of reporting on CIFF\u2019s Missions, and its strategic scaling.Delivery and Performance
Data management: Responsible for managing data sets, ensuring they are clean, accurate, and ready for analysis. This involves data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes. Knowledge about and able to communicate the latest Power BI features and trends. Troubleshooting and resolving issues in Power BI reports. Accountable for proactive monitoring and management of data flow (e.g. daily monitoring of pipeline status). Ensure data accuracy: Ensure the accuracy and reliability of the data presented in the dashboards and reports, by validating the data and implementing quality checks. Review all analytics for quality before final artifacts are delivered to target stakeholders. Responsible for version control of reports and creating technical documentation.Stakeholder and partner management
Collaborating with stakeholders: Work closely with various stakeholders to understand their data needs and deliver solutions that meet them. Establish good working relationships with colleagues, DTS Staff, vendors and other professionals. Work with the Product Manager, Business Analysts and Technical Architect to design and build new data system features and infrastructure to facilitate ongoing improvements. Coordinate & support vendors with the resolution of technical issues during development or maintenance of ETL processes and data visualization.Sector knowledge and profile-building
Training end-users: train end-users on how to use dashboards and reports effectively. This includes: explaining how to interpret the data and make data-driven decisions. Influencing and educating stakeholders on the appropriate data, tools, and visualizations. Share knowledge and skills with your teammates to grow analytics impact across the organisation. Requirements
Skills & Experience
Demonstrated success and analytical experience in data and analytics including building reports and dashboards. Proficiency in Power BI development, including report and dashboard creation. Understanding of effective contemporary data visualisation; experience with Power BI, Tableau or QlikView or similar. Strong understanding of data modeling and data visualization concepts. Experience with SQL for data manipulation and extraction. Familiarity with data warehouse concepts. MS Azure, SQL experience essential. Familiar with Agile, Scrum or Kanban development methodologies. Strong problem solving, quantitative and analytical abilities. Solid written and verbal communication skills and knowledge. Creative thinker; to design and innovate cutting-edge solutions for management and data requirements across the business. Multi-tasker; able to prioritise, working on large projects and small tasks in parallel. Able to understand business requirements and translate and action to an IT technological output. Demonstrate flexibility to learn and work on new systems. Has the initiative to perform successfully in a rapidly changing environment. Comfortable with responsibility for business-critical systems. Is passionate about CIFF\u2019s mission, maintaining perspective on how daily actions contribute to improving the lives of children. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Desirable
Power BI certifications Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) and JavaScript experience. An understanding of how software design relates to overall system architecture. Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power BI, and/or Fluxx (Grant Management System) experience helpful. Familiar with Microsoft platforms. Azure Portal, Data Factory, Data Lake, Data Warehouse, DevOps, Visual Studio, Power Platform (Power BI, Power Automate/Flow, Power Apps). Experience in writing production-ready code, with a test-driven development approach, writing unit and functional tests. Experience developing and integrating with API backends. The salary for this role is KES 5,400,000 per annum.
