Main Purpose of the Roleย 

CIFF\u2019s Senior Analyst, Grants will provide grant management support for prospective investments. This role will strengthen delivery capacity during a period of high operational demand, ensuring all grant management, payment, and due diligence processes are executed efficiently, transparently, and in full compliance with CIFF\u2019s internal policies and donor requirements.ย 

The Analyst will work closely with the Africa programme, finance, and operations teams to oversee due diligence related to grants, coordinate grant closures, follow up on payments, and maintain up-to-date financial and operational records in Fluxx and the OPEX tracker. The overarching aim is to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery across the full grant lifecycle while promoting operational excellence, risk mitigation, and partnership integrity.ย

Strategy & planningย 

Support programme leads and operations teams to conduct due diligence assessments for prospective grantees in accordance with CIFF\u2019s partnership due diligence guidelinesย ย  Ensure all due diligence documentation is correctly stored, tracked, and maintained in Fluxx, with clear audit trailsย

Programme development, delivery & performanceย 

Grant Closure Processesย ย 

Support programme and operations teams to complete closure requirements for expiring grants, including partner communication, documentation, and financial reconciliations.ย  Coordinate the collection, verification, and archiving closure-related documentation, including final financial reports, safeguarding attestations, audit confirmations, legal status verification, and partner declarationsย  Prepare closure summaries and residual risk assessments to inform internal approvals and ensure all close-out actions are fully documented and compliant with CIFF\u2019s internal standards.ย ย  Track closure progress and flag risks or delays to relevant stakeholdersย  Complete due diligence reports and documentation for all assigned partners.and ensure that closure documentation is accurately filed and stored in Fluxxย  Implement and manage weekly tracker of due diligence and closure status across all relevant grantsย

Manage coordination with finance and programme teams to ensure timely processing and follow-up of partner payments.ย  Maintain up-to-date records in Fluxx to reflect payment progress and related documentation.ย  Oversee the accuracy and completeness of the OPEX tracker, ensuring it aligns with financial reports and provides clear visibility of operational expenditures.ย  Analyse expenditure patterns and highlight potential variances, risks, or budget implications to relevant stakeholders.ย 

Process Improvement and Knowledge Managementย ย 

Identify systemic bottlenecks and propose process enhancements to improve efficiency, compliance, and partner experience.ย  Lead the development and continuous improvement of templates, checklists, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).ย  Contribute to organisational learning by documenting lessons, trends, and recommendations for future portfolio planning.ย 

ย Stakeholder and partner managementย 

Serve as the primary focal point supporting the Portfolio Finance Director on grant management, payment, and closure processes.ย  Facilitate collaboration across programme, legal, and finance functions to ensure effective workflow, clear communication, and timely decision-making.ย  Prepare summary reports, trackers, and management dashboards for internal review and leadership updates.ย  Support internal and external audits, ensuring readiness and comprehensive documentation.ย 

Requirements

Skills & Experienceย ย 

ย 

Significant experience in grants management, due diligence, compliance, or programme operations in an international NGO, foundation, or donor agency.ย  Strong understanding of the grant lifecycle, due diligence processes, financial tracking, and risk management frameworks.ย  Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams and coordinate complex workflows under tight deadlines.ย  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated attention to detail and process improvement mindset.ย  Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage senior leadership and external partners effectively.ย  High proficiency with grant management systems (Fluxx experience preferred) and financial tracking tools.ย  High level of discretion, integrity, and cultural sensitivity.ย  Collaborative and adaptable, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.ย 

Benefits

The salary for this role starts from KES 7,200,00 and is a 12 Month FTC. CIFF operates a hybrid work policy across all locations, which means employees work in the office and some of the time from home. We are happy to provide more information on this as part of the recruitment process.
