Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) is a department of the United Nations Secretariat. Its mission is to mobilize and coordinate humanitarian action effectively in partnership with national and international actors, to alleviate human suffering, advocate for the rights of populations in need, promote preparedness and prevention of disasters and facilitate the establishment of durable solutions. This internship is being advertised for the Administrative and HR Intern in Amman, OCHA Regional Office for the Middle East & North Africa (ROMENA). The intern will report to the Administrative Officer, in Administrative Unit in OCHA ROMENA. The intern will support the team and tasks will include: โ€ข Assisting in organizing, archiving, and maintaining digital HR records. โ€ข Assisting in the management and organization of the shared drive, ensuring files are properly labelled, categorized, and easily accessible. โ€ข Assisting in identifying manual administrative processes and finding automation solutions. โ€ข Assisting in the implementation of automated forms and workflows to streamline HR and administrative tasks. โ€ข Supporting the team in day-to-day administrative tasks. โ€ข Assisting in the preparation of lists, reports, and documentation as needed. โ€ข Keeping abreast of the latest technologies and trends. Qualifications/special skillsThe basic education required HR, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field. Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelorโ€™s degree or equivalent). Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required. Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Masterโ€™s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelorโ€™s, Masterโ€™s or PH.D. Good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, Basic knowledge of hardware and software systems and MS Teams is required.
