ACF started working in Myanmar in 1994 on treatment and prevention of malnutrition. ACF is currently implementing and developing projects addressing malnutrition, mental health and care practices, Gender & Protection, food security and livelihoods, water sanitation and hygiene promotion, nutrition security and disaster risk reduction through an integrated approach. On 01 February 2021 a State of Emergency was announced by the military, a coup came into being and the military government took control of state organs. The elected President and government officials were captured by the military. There were ongoing tensions between the armed forces and the government following parliamentary elections loss by the army-backed opposition before this coup. The situation remains unpredictable and volatile though it has slightly better compared to prior periods. The Country also had a huge covid 3rd wave from around July 2021 and the impact was huge given very limited access to needed services and an already existing socio-economic crisis. Additional support was required for staff to help them through the crisis.
Working as Health and nutrition Coordinator in Myanmar represents a great opportunity to provide humanitarian support to vulnerable population, including the Rohingyas population (in Rakhine State). While providing direct suppport to local population, ACF is working closely with local health authorities and key stakeholders to strengthen the national health system. Efforts are also made to provide comprehensive and inclusive services for adapted response and more sustainable impact, through multisectoral intervention (eg: nutrition and sensitive intervention, alignment of health and nutrition programs).
*Due to the current difficulty regarding visa issuance for Myanmar, the position will first be based in our office in Thailand for international candidates, as the position is open for both.

Under the supervision of the Deputy Country Director, you will be in charge of defining the strategies and coordinating activities in the fields of health and nutrition.
More specifically, your responsibilities will be to:
Provide technical support through regularly monitoring and evaluate the implementation of Health and Nutrition programs, projects and activities at mission level ;Define the Health and Nutrition country strategy and positioning, coordinate needs identification and the formulation of project proposals ; Promote capitalization through analysis and collection of qualitative and quantitative data ; Ensure the active participation of ACF in national sectorial coordination and technical forums, and develop sectorial partnershipsVotre profil
You have a medical or paramedical background with preferably a Master's degree in Nutrition, Public Health or Social sciences, and 5 years of minimum professional experience with NGOs including 2 years prior experience in a similar or comparable position, in both emergency and development contexts.
You have a confirmed technical expertise in Community-based Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM), Sexual, Reproductive, Maternal, New Born and Child Health (SRMNCH), and pharmacy management.
An experience in Health System Strengthening, Adolescent Health, Nutrition Surveillance, and the implementation of integrated approaches (MHCP/Nut- WASH/Nut, FSL/Nut) would be an asset.
You also have strong abilities to design strategies and provide technical support in project proposal development.
Excellent diplomacy, negotiation representation, and advocacy skills are required.
Your English is fluent (spoken and written), and the knowledge of the Burmese language is an asset.
