JOB SUMMARY:

About WiDEF
The Women in the Digital Economy Fund (WiDEF) is a $60M+ initiative to close the gender digital divide globally. CARE, along with the Global Digital Inclusion Partnership (GDIP) and the GSMA Foundation, lead this groundbreaking effort with support from USAID, the Gates Foundation, Microsoft and others. WiDEF builds on CARE’s experience, which demonstrates that that when women and girls have the access, skills, confidence and support they need to engage online, everyone is better off. At WiDEF, we believe the solutions with the greatest potential to close the gender digital divide are being developed by people and institutions with the deepest knowledge on the goals women have and the barriers they face. Over the coming years, WiDEF will provide financial and technical support to evidence-based solutions; build partnerships to accelerate progress and extend impacts; generate insights and evidence; and advocate for progressive change to effectively close the gender digital divide.

About the role
The WiDEF Partnership and Learning Coordinator will take a lead role in managing WiDEF’s relationships with a growing array of public and private sector funders, non-profit collaborators and WiDEF-supported organizations. The position will help to structure and coordinate WIDEF partnerships in four core areas, including across the WiDEF Leadership Council (USAID, Gates Foundation); among additional WiDEF funders, including Microsoft and KOICA currently; among WIDEF awardees, to support cross-learning and collaboration; and among internal stakeholders at CARE to ensure the whole of the organization is enriching WIDEF efforts. This is a new position with a number of existing partnerships to manage but also substantial room to grow as WIDEF transitions from start up to fully operational.

About you
You are passionate about gender equality, about the promise of digital inclusion and about helping women and girls achieve their full potential. You believe deeply in the power of partnership to deliver broad-reaching and resilient change and you are a skilled collaborator. You get energy from engaging with potential allies and figuring out how we can work together to have the greatest potential impact. You are effective at converting blue sky thinking into tangible, actionable plans and shepherding progress from ideas to impactful collaboration. You have proven capacity to effectively engage executive decision makers, ideally spanning public, private and non-profit sectors. You are from, have lived and/or worked in places that give you perspective on the challenges and opportunities WiDEF seeks to address. You are not easily discouraged nor uneasy amidst ambiguity. You respect what everyone brings to the table. You have fun, a good sense of humor and you are able to laugh despite adversity.
