Are you interested in working in the migration field? Do you want to learn more about project management? Open Cultural Center (OCC) is a non-profit organisation (NGO) based in Spain and Greece that works towards the inclusion of refugees, migrants, and asylum seekers. As a EU projects assistant, you will support the implementation of projects from developing a language teaching methodology to organising a labour rights workshop for migrant people.

Main tasks

  • Support with the organisation of activities related to EU project (training weeks, conferences, partner meetings, awareness raising activities, etc.);
  • Support with the administrative management of EU projects (finances, EU Commission dedicated platforms, etc.);
  • Support with research activities within EU project;
  • Support with writing reports, guides, toolkits;
  • Support with writing project justifications and final reports;
  • Attend partner meetings and take meeting minutes;
  • Prepare presentations and deliver them in partner meetings;
  • Write social media and communication content related to EU projects;
  • Support the Recruitment Assistant with the volunteering recruitment process (participation in volunteer interviews, administrative onboarding);

  • Support the rest of the team and participate actively in the organisationโ€™s
    activities.

Requirements

  • Experience or interest in project management;
  • Good writing skills (reporting, social media, etc.) in English, a plus in Spanish and Catalan;
  • Great organisational skills;
  • Educational background in European studies, political science, sociology, or social sciences is a plus;
  • A motivated, proactive and autonomous person, who likes working as part of a team and cares about them;
  • Strong interest in working in the nonprofit/social sector and general knowledge of the migration context of Europe.

What do we offer?

Our volunteering program is funded by the European Commission through the
European Solidarity Corps program. This means that volunteering provides:

  • Travel costs coverage: Up to the limits established in the Erasmus+ Guide distance calculator from the volunteerโ€™s region of residency to our center, and back.
  • Free Accommodation: Provided in Barcelona. The flat is fully equipped (kitchen, bathrooms, washing machine, etc.)
  • Monthly allowance: 310 euros per month
  • Insurance: Henner
  • Free Language courses: Online
