5 Steps to get a job in the United Nations

Project Context and Scope
ย  The project aims to enhance vaccination coverage among migrants, refugees, third-country nationals, and crisis-affected populations within Greater Cairo and Alexandria, Egypt, with a particular focus on vulnerable Syrian and Sudanese communities. Positioned as a key transit and destination country in the region, Egypt faces a significant influx of migrants and refugees due to ongoing regional conflicts. The COVID-19 pandemic has placed additional strain on Egyptโ€™s underfunded and overstretched healthcare system, which struggles to provide equitable access to health services, including vaccinations, for both Egyptians and migrant populations. Vaccine-preventable diseases (VPDs), particularly measles, pose a considerable threat to these vulnerable groups due to low vaccination uptake and vaccine hesitancy exacerbated by social, cultural, and structural barriers. This project seeks to address these challenges through community assessments, stakeholder engagement, and targeted vaccine interventions developed with human-centered design principles. By fostering collaborative relationships between stakeholders and building capacity within migrant community-based organizations, the project aims to increase vaccine confidence, demand, and accessibility for at-risk migrant and refugee populations, contributing to broader public health resilience in Egypt.
