UN Women India, in partnership with the Ford Foundation, is implementing a multi-state initiative to advance gender equality and womenโs empowerment. The initiative includes engagement with state governments, civil society organizations, and high-net-worth individuals in Bihar, Kerala, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh, alongside national-level efforts. To ensure strategic coherence, quality, and impact across all convenings and milestones, UN Women seeks an experienced facilitator to support the design and delivery of key events, workshops, and consultations.
Objective of the Assignmentย
Design and lead participatory workshops and consultations aligned with Ford partnership milestones. Ensure consistency in methodology and quality across convenings/ workshops.ย Synthesize discussions and provide actionable insights. Support milestone documentation and donor communicationsThe facilitator will work closely with UN Women teams and partners to:
Pre-Workshop
Review project documents (baseline reports, milestone plans, strategy notes).ย Design tailored agendas, methodologies, and tools for each milestone. and presentations wherever needed.ย Support state teams in contextualizing facilitation approaches.During Workshop
Facilitate in-person and hybrid events at state and national levels. Use inclusive and interactive methods to engage diverse stakeholders. Ensure objectives are met and discussions are synthesized in real time.Post-Workshop
Document key insights, recommendations, and follow-up actions and share with UN Women Conduct debrief calls with UN Women, partners as needed for feedback and course correction. Support milestone report drafting and donor presentations. Align all outputs with the broader program strategy.Strategic Facilitation Support
Facilitate the formation of a platform to support UN Women and partners in leveraging public finance to address gender-based violence. Support strategic dialogues and consultations with government entities, civil society, donors, and private sector actors to build consensus on programme strategies and priorities related to GBV and GRB. Support with drafting of background documents and communication material.Deliverables:ย
Design and deliver tailored workshop agendas, facilitation methodologies, tools, and contextualized guidance for state teams, including presentations as needed. Facilitate in-person and hybrid workshops at state and national levels, and support strategic dialogues and consultations with government, civil society, donors, and private sector stakeholders. Prepare comprehensive workshop and milestone reports capturing key insights, recommendations, agreed follow-up actions, and donor presentation drafts. Develop a concept note and provide facilitation support for establishing a platform to leverage public finance to address gender-based violence, along with background documents and communication materials. Conduct post-workshop debriefs and provide alignment summaries to ensure all outputs remain consistent with the broader programme strategy.Competencies :

Strong commitment to gender equality and the empowerment of women, with demonstrated experience of researching or working on gender issues. Strong research and writing skills, with strong analytical skills and creative thinking. Ability to think and work logically and work precisely with attention to detail. Initiative, sound judgment and demonstrated ability to work harmoniously with staff members of different national and cultural backgrounds.Education:
Masters in Gender Studies, Social Sciences; or equivalent degrees from premier institutions.Experience:
Minimum 7 years of experience in facilitation, strategy, and gender-related programming. Prior work with UN, donors, government and civil society. Strong documentation and synthesis skills.Language Requirements:

For an assignment requiring travel, consultants of 65 years or more require full medical examination and statement of fitness to work to engage in the consultancy.
