ContextThis assignment is part of WHO Tรผrkiyeโs broader efforts to make dementia and Alzheimer awareness materials more accessible to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community, in line with the organizationโs commitment to disability inclusion and health equity.
Task DescriptionWe are seeking 1 Online Volunteer to support the translation of a dementia and Alzheimer awareness script into Turkish Sign Language (TฤฐD) and produce a sign language video. The Online Volunteer will be responsible for: โข Translating a provided Turkish script into clear, accurate, and culturally appropriate Turkish Sign Language (TฤฐD); โข Recording a high-quality video of themselves signing the translated script in TฤฐD; โข Ensuring that the signing is expressive, understandable, and accessible to a diverse audience, following WHOโs standards for inclusive and rights-based communication; considering the wide and official usage of the translated materials into Turkish Sign Language. Note: The video slides and the finalized Turkish script will be provided by WHO Tรผrkiye. The Online Volunteer experienced in Turkish Sign Language is only responsible for sign language translation and recording their TฤฐD interpretation. Technical editing or video overlay tasks are not required and will be completed by another Online Volunteer under the leadership of WHO Tรผrkiye. The Online Volunteer will work under the guidance of WHO Tรผrkiyeโs Mental Health and Communication Teams and will receive briefing documents as needed.
