Expected duration1 Year Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe Department of Operational Support (DOS) was established to provide end-to-end operational support, advisory services and other solutions to operating entities across the Secretariat, including departments, offices away from headquarters, peace operations, and regional commissions. The Talent Acquisition Section (TAS) in the Human Resources Services Division (HRSD) of the Department of Operational Support exists to establish and manage diverse talent pools and rosters across all job families providing the full spectrum of operational support and other advisory services for clients in the exercise of their delegated authority. The Senior Women Talent Pipeline (SWTP) within TAS is a career program and talent pool under the UN Department of Operational Support aimed at promoting gender parity at senior levels in UN peace operations. The SWTP provides personalized support to members of the pool in applying for senior positions in UN peace operations and targeted training and development opportunities to ensure candidates are well-equipped to apply for and take up senior positions at the UN. The Talent Acquisition Section in the Human Resources Services Division is seeking to engage two consultants to lead assessment preparation, including interview training for members of the pipeline, provide career development and assessment support to the SWTP members. The two consultants will work alongside the Chief of the Talent Acquisition Section and the Programme Manager of SWTP. The consultants will be responsible for: a. Providing coaching services to members of the SWTP to support them in their career development and for the purpose of preparing members for UN assessments including interviews. b. Providing assessment preparation for candidates for senior level interviews. This may, for example, include mock interviews for substantive assessments including UN CBI interviews. Support should be provided in a timely manner and the consultant must make themselves available on short notice. Ideally no more than 48 hours after being contacted. c. Providing general career support to members of the SWTP. d. Working closely with SWTP core team to identify gaps in members' profiles and approaches. e. Supporting other career development needs of the members of the pipeline. f. Using an online calendar system in administering bookings compatible with range of browsers and IT solutions and using virtual tool (ideally Zoom or Teams) to meet with members. Qualifications/special skillsA university degree (Recognized 1st level bachelor's degree) in Education, Performance counseling, psychology, career development, human resources, and/or other relevant areas is required. A minimum of five (5) years of senior-level professional experience leading training and leadership development efforts for senior leaders, preferably in a public sector or international organization, is required. A minimum of two (2) years of experience in providing coaching services in relation to UN assessments in the UN Secretariat, including providing senior leader support on recruitment and careers, preferably in relation to the UN Secretariat, is required. Knowledge of the job requirements, candidate profiles and competencies needed for roles at senior level preferably at the UN or a similar international organization is required. LanguagesEnglish and French are the working languages of the UN. For this vacancy, fluency in English language is required. Knowledge of another UN official language (French, Spanish, Arabic, Russian, Chinese) is an advantage. Additional InformationNot available.
