ContextVision GRAM-International is seeking online volunteers to participate in two research projects related to positive masculinity in conflict zones in Eastern DRC. In this research, we aim to examine how positive masculinity programs have influenced the reduction of gender-based violence in Eastern DRC. We also seek to explore the role of men who adopt positive masculinity in conflict prevention and peacebuilding. Additionally, we aim to investigate the effects of positive masculinity on the reintegration of former combatants, including child soldiers, into society and how positive masculinity contributes to reducing the radicalization of young men by armed groups. Furthermore, we will assess how positive masculinity affects the mental health of men impacted by conflict in the region. Besides focusing on gender, we intend to analyze the impact of positive masculinity programs on reducing gender-based violence in Eastern DRC, explore the role of men promoting positive masculinity in peacebuilding and conflict resolution, study the influence of positive masculinity on the reintegration of former combatants, particularly child soldiers, examine how positive masculinity can reduce the radicalization of vulnerable young men at risk of recruitment by armed groups, and evaluate the impact of positive masculinity on men's mental health and emotional well-being in war zones. All arguments presented will be supported by relevant scientific articles. The online volunteer(s) will have the opportunity to connect with the research officer at Vision GRAM-International, work with partners on the ground in Eastern DRC, and learn how research on human rights in these various areas can support the promotion of human rights, peace, and security through the work of Vision GRAM-International.
