Purpose and Scope of Assignment:

The contractor will work on the following tasks and deliver the related outputs:
โข Develop a social media strategy for World Refugee Day 2025 (WRD) with an engaging, innovative, impactful social media campaign
โข Lead on the creative content development for WRD, project management and team coordination
โข Develop creative content partnerships for WRD with influential social media accounts and outlets
โข Develop and implement an influencer/creator strategy for WRD
โข Represent the team in the broader WRD working group and meetings
โข Produce social content for the WRD campaign with templates for local adaptation
โข Coordinate translations for the WRD social content
โข Create the WRD social media package and coordinate dissemination to operations and partners
โข Develop the WRD campaign report
โข Roll out social media content for the Nansen Award nomination process
โข Act as focal point for the advocacy campaigns hub and the fundraising campaigns team
โข Provide strategy for other social media campaigns
โข Support with training and capacity-building across the organization
โข Lead on the Brunch & Learn training programme
โข Draft the monthly Social Buzz newsletter
โข Support the Social Media Section with other similar projects as needed
CANDIDATE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS, SELECTION CRITERIA
Required qualifications, language(s) and work experience:

Field of expertise, competencies:
Required/mandatory:
โข Demonstrated experience in mobilizing and engaging online audiences through integrated digital and social media strategies
โข Demonstrated experience developing and implementing social media strategies, digital marketing or editorial for an NGO, UN, advertisement, media, or publishing outlet
โข Extensive experience working with and on diverse social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, LinkedIn and WhatsApp Channels
โข Demonstrated experience in training and capacity-building
โข Excellent writing and visual content production skills
โข Great time management skills, and proven ability to work in a highly organized way and meet deadlines efficiently
โข A great eye for predicting trends, with the ability to keep up to date on best practices and apply and share that knowledge in strategies and the day-to-day work
โข Demonstrated experience working with creators and influencers
โข Demonstrated skills and experience in Canva, Trello and social media publishing tools
โข Experience in project management
โข Personable team player who thrives on working in a diverse team, and spending time every day engaging and building relationships in a digital workspace
โข Experience working in a multicultural environment and working with colleagues across different regions and time zones.
โข Fluent in English

Experienced social media manager with at least 5 years of experience managing social media accounts and campaigns.

Monitoring and Progress Controls
Weekly check-ins on development of World Refugee Day social media campaign and related creative content partnerships; delivery of social media strategy and plan, as well as products.
