Overview

Creative Associates International seeks a Senior Innovations and Entrepreneurship Officer for the Youth Employment for Migration Prevention (YEMP) Activity in Honduras. The Senior Innovations and Entrepreneurship Officer will be responsible for designing and implementing the project approach to increasing access to quality education, training, and services for out-of-school youth to improved entrepreneurship outcomes in conjunction with the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Labor and Employment, and local Chambers of Commerce.

Reporting and Supervision:

The Senior Innovations and Entrepreneurship Officer reports to the Deputy Chief of Party.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement project approach to increasing access to quality education, training, and services for out-of-school youth to improved life skills, employability, and entrepreneurship outcomes.
  • In coordination with the project team, engage with youth, the business community, civil society, and other stakeholders to assess the strengths and challenges of education and training systems as well as support services for out-of-school youth to improved life skills, employability, and entrepreneurship;
  • Co-create strategies to build on strengths and address challenges identified in conjunction with the Secretariat Education, the Secretariat of Labor and Social Security, and local Chambers of Commerce and Trade Associations;
  • Lead the development or adaptation of tools, resources, and approaches to support improvements in education and training systems and support services for out-of-school youth.
  • Liaise with the Secretariat of Education, the Secretariat of Labor and Social Security, and local Chambers of Commerce representatives on technical matters, in coordination with other project staff; and
  • Supervise provision of technical assistance and training to achieve project objectives.**Qualifications**

  • Master's Degree in education, economics, business, or other relevant degree;

  • At least ten years of experience in workforce development, jobs creation and/or placement, in a context of innovative, entrepreneurial youth enterprises;

  • Experience with Positive Youth Development (PYD) Programming;

  • Demonstrated entrepreneurial capacity and an established track record of independent management;

  • Strong knowledge of and experience in the entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem in Honduras;

  • Demonstrated experience creating and fostering strong private sector partnerships and other synergistic arrangements in programs; and

  • Language Proficiency:

    • ILR Level 4 โ€“ Full Professional Proficiency in Reading, Speaking, Listening and Writing (or equivalent) in English Required.
    • ILR Level 3 โ€“ Working Professional Proficiency in Reading, Speaking, Listening and Writing (or Equivalent) in Spanish is required.
