About the position

 

Based in Rome, Italy and under the supervision of (job title of supervisor) the intern will provide support financial data management, budgeting, audit preparation, and systems support in a dynamic and collaborative environment. The intern will play a key role in helping ensure data accuracy, supporting financial operations, and enabling efficient planning processes.

Responsibilities

More specifically, the Intern will:

  • Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial data within the ERP and planning system
  • Support budget and actual expense reclassifications in coordination with FP&A Business Partners
  • Help consolidate departmental budget submission and prepare summary reports for internal review
  • Assist in the preparation and update of financial templates, dashboards and tools used in the planning process
  • Assist in the Collection and organization of supporting documentation for internal and external audits
  • Contribute to Maintaining a secure and organized digital archive of financial and audit documentation
  • Provide general administrative and analytical support to the FP&A team
  • Participate in financial process improvement initiatives, including testing and documenting new features in ERP and planning tools
  • Assist in Conducting basic financial analysis or benchmarking to support strategic decisions

    Requirements

    • Ongoing or recently completed university studies in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
    • Prior experience in a similar role is desirable.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite packages, especially Excel.
    • Proficiency of the English language, both written and spoken.  
    • Basic knowledge of the Italian language, both written and spoken.
    • Good interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills, courtesy and tact, and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with people of different cultural and national backgrounds.
    • Good skills in personal organization and priority setting.
    • Good time management skills and attention to details.
    • Good analytical skills.
    • Ability to work independently and take initiative

      Terms of employment
      Applicants must be enrolled in a university or graduate school and have completed at least two years of undergraduate studies, or alternatively, have completed their university studies within the past six months. The internship shall be on a full-time basis for a period of 6 months. The monthly stipend will be established in accordance with Bioversity International's local standards and regulations.
