Programme for Emerging Infection under Infectious Diseases Division is carrying out a Child Health and Mortality Prevention Surveillance (CHAMPS) program that incorporates Social and Behavioral Science (SBS) activities which include collaborating with the local community and stakeholders in a rural sub-district to encourage community residents and partners to actively participate. The Field Research Manager will be responsible for coordinating and implementing various community engagement activities for CHAMPS.
Position Description:
The Research Investigator reporting to the Deputy Project Coordinator, will be responsible for planning, organizing, implementing, coordinating, and analyzing quantitative data to attain study within the guidelines of the CHAMPS protocol and organizational values and guidelines. The specific areas of responsibilities include:
Develop detailed research design, methodology and SOP to address research questions; Actively participate in drafting research concept and proposal, seek feedback and modify accordingly; Contribute to other colleagues' research protocols in order to develop effective protocols that meet the new research objectives; Coordinate different activities of the different components of the project; Train newly hired staff on study procedure and quality assurance; Manage day to day project activities and report to the supervisor on weekly basis; Support in hiring staff and other administrative work; Design new intervention based of data; Ensure completeness and quality of data; Monitoring progress of planned activities and report to the supervisor; Present study objectives and activities to bigger forum; Maintain close liaison with different stakeholders especially the government counter part; Compile monthly reports and deliver to supervisor for finalization; Actively participate in Annual report preparation; Monitor progress of every activity and report to supervisor. Participate in advance level data analysis; Work jointly with supervisor and other team members to develop manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals; Conduct peer reviews of manuscripts of other researchers to ensure effective analysis and translation of research report; Train junior research staff on project designing, literature review, data interpretation and analysis; Train junior researchers on biological sample collection; handling and dispose bio-hazardous to ensure safe working environment.Required qualifications and experience:
MBBS with MPH from well reputed medical college and university; At least 5 years of experience in human research especially maternal and child health Preference will be provided to the candidates who has advanced analytical skill and track record of published manuscriptsLocation: Dhaka

Contract Type and Duration:
Short-Term Contractual Service Agreement; duration will be 11 months with a possibility of extension subject to availability of funds and performance.Salary & benefits:
Tk.1,34,048/-per month (consolidated) inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances.Festival bonus, income tax paid by icddr,b, and subsidized canteen; Transport and daycare facilities are subject to space availability.
