Programme for Emerging Infection under Infectious Diseases Division is carrying out a Child Health and Mortality Prevention Surveillance (CHAMPS) program that incorporates Social and Behavioral Science (SBS) activities which include collaborating with the local community and stakeholders in a rural sub-district to encourage community residents and partners to actively participate. The Field Research Manager will be responsible for coordinating and implementing various community engagement activities for CHAMPS.
Position Description:
The Field Research Manager reporting to the Assistant Scientist, will be mainly responsible for devising strategies for project implementation; coordinating, monitoring and evaluating project activities; tracking and monitoring resource management across projects; compiling and analyzing data; preparing reports; support the PI for manuscript development within the guidelines of the CHAMPS protocol and organizational values and guidelines. The specific areas of responsibilities include:
Develop detailed plans for community engagement, covering milestones and deliverables of the project; Coordinate and communicate with different levelsโ local authorities and stakeholders at regular basis and conduct regular meeting as need basis; Oversee and the overall management and administration of field office; Coordinate with internal teams and central team to get resources and implementation of target activities; Develop manuals and supportive materials for diverse community engagement activities; Assign work to team and initiate activities as per target deliverables; Oversee and monitor diverse community engagement activities and quality of data collected and address issues faced during implementation; Escalate issues to supervisor in order to efficiently and effectively execute the research according to protocol; Develop detailed research methodology, including data collection tools following qualitative research approach; Conduct basic quantitative research; Analyse qualitative data Basic analysis of quantitative data using SPSS/STATA/Excel; Share initial findings with supervisor and seek inputs; Prepare research report and regular update report; Estimate requirements for financial and non-financial resources based on research methodology.Required qualifications and experience:
Masterโs degree in Anthropology, Sociology or other relevant Social Science disciplines from a reputed university; Minimum 05 years of professional experience; Experience to work with diverse community groups in rural areas, and local stakeholders and institutions will be given preference; Experience in qualitative data analysis; Experience in performing quantitative data analysis using SPSS/STATA will be given preferenceLocation: Baliakandi, Rajbari

Fixed Term; duration will be 1 year with a possibility of extension subject to availability of fund and performance.Salary & benefits:
Annual Tk.16,08,570/- inclusive of house rent, conveyance and other admissible benefits; 14.8% provident fund contribution, income tax paid by icddr,b, children allowance @Tk.1,917/- per child per month, festival bonus, contributory healthcare support including dependent spouse and children, group life insurance, and subsidized canteen.
