The International Potato Center (CIP) is seeking to recruit two (02) dynamic and experienced Research Associate-Agronomist to ensure the field activities and support the implementation of the Sweet Recovery Project (SWRP) that is currently implemented in ten districts in southern Madagascar, with Agronomists serving as the backbone of project implementation at the district level. Agronomists are pivotal to the project's success, implementing, supporting and coordinating activities at the district level.

The Position: These positions will report to the Project coordinator. They will be based in Betroka and Ampanihy respectively.


Key Responsibilities:

聽聽聽聽聽聽 Conduct field visits and provide technical assistance on OFSP cultivation.

聽聽聽聽聽聽 Organize and deliver farmer training sessions and on-farm demonstrations.

聽聽聽聽聽聽 Collect and analyze data; prepare and submit progress reports.

聽聽聽聽聽聽 Build relationships with communities, authorities, and stakeholders.

聽聽聽聽聽聽 Collaborate with project staff and partners to ensure effective implementation.
Monitor project activities and participate in impact evaluations.


Requirements

Selection Criteria

聽聽聽聽聽聽 Master's degree in Agronomy, Biology, Nutrition, or related area.

聽聽聽聽聽聽 At least 6 years of experience required.

聽聽聽聽聽聽 Knowledge of modern agricultural techniques and technologies.

聽聽聽聽聽聽 Skills in training smallholder farmers, especially using participatory approaches.

聽聽聽聽聽聽 Experience in agricultural extension, working with smallholder farms.

聽聽聽聽聽聽 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

聽聽聽聽聽聽 Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

聽聽聽聽聽聽 Strong organizational and time management skills.

聽聽聽聽聽聽 Proficiency in data collection, analysis and reporting.

聽聽聽聽聽聽 Proficiency in computer skills, including MS Office.

聽聽聽聽聽聽 Willingness to travel to remote areas and work under challenging conditions.
