Introduction

The City-to-City Cooperation C2CC is an initiative between Freetown, Sierra Leone, and Zurich, Switzerland, with UN-Habitat as a Cooperation Partner. The C2CC focuses on the urban regeneration of Freetown's Central Business District (CBD) as part of the wider Transform Freetown agenda.

UN-Habitat is looking for a Local Implementing Partner in Freetown, Sierra Leone, to carry out the planned interventions for the urban regeneration of the CBD of Freetown.

The project

The City-to-City Cooperation (C2CC) serves as a pilot initiative supporting the Central Business District Urban Regeneration Programme (CBDURP). It contributes to key outcomes, such as enhancing policy frameworks for integrated urban planning, improving transportation and mobility, and fostering safe, inclusive public spaces and a green environment. The C2CC concept follows a two-pronged approach: first, by implementing a sustainable urban regeneration project for the CBD, and second, by promoting technical exchanges and capacity building alongside political dialogue to drive long-term improvements.
