ICMC has been operational in the Middle East since 2002, implementing humanitarian assistance programs in support of refugees in Lebanon, Jordan and Syria. Most recently, ICMC is providing emergency humanitarian assistance to Syrian refugees in Jordan with funding support from the U.S. State Department’s Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration (BPRM).

For its operations in Jordan, ICMC is recruiting a dynamic and committed Protection Social Worker.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: Conduct awareness raising sessions, coordinate the men and boy’s engagement and life skills activities. Provide general psychosocial support to Syrian and Jordanian men and women, and assisting the Team leader in all project activities to ensure the successful implementation of the program.

General Coordination

  • Support the assistants, in coordination with the Team leader.
  • Facilitate the referral of vulnerable individuals to various organizations for appropriate service provision.
  • Facilitate and support the training of staff in a range of topics.
  • Participate and facilitate in weekly team meetings to support and coordinate the team.

General Communication

  • Facilitate translation between English and Arabic languages for different team members as required.
  • Develop work plans for ARS’s with the supervisor.
  • Provide daily updates and reports to the Supervisor regarding the day’s activities.
  • Prepare regular narrative report regarding the activities completed.
  • Establish good communication and coordination with all ICMC departments and project staff.

Awareness raising session Activities:

  • Organize and conduct awareness raising session for women and men
  • Support the development of materials for the awareness raising session
  • Collaborate with other Social Workers to develop the awareness raising session program and other related activities.
  • Coordinate and conduct the men and boy’s engagement and life skills activities.


  • Assist with various administrative duties, as required by the Team Leader.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.


  • Strictly follow the ICMC internal procedures and guidelines, as advised by senior management.
  • Ensure accountability to all project stakeholders, especially beneficiaries.
  • Assist, when required in the coordination and completion of potential beneficiaries through outreach activities.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications:

  • University degree in Social Work or related field.
  • Minimum of two years professional experience, preferably in the NGO sector.
  • Experience in working with marginalized populations an asset.
  • Ability to diplomatically communicate effectively with variety of people and express oneself in a clear and concise way.
  • Excellent Arabic and English spoken and written language skills.
  • Excellent command of MS Office and other computer programs, including good typing skills.
  • Excellent team working skills and ability to work in a multicultural environment and under pressure.

NOTE: Male candidates are preferred to deliver men and boys sessions.
