What you will do
The Protection from Violence (PfV) Project Manager oversees the implementation of all PfV activities in the North-East Area and contributes to strategic thinking on programme development at the area level.ย The position encompasses team and local partners management, project cycle management, capacity building and programme quality, while ensuring integrated programming approaches and coordination with key stakeholders.ย

The position directly reports to the Area Programme Manager and receive technical guidanceย
from the PfV Specialist. The role holder will be responsible for the overall management of the North-East area PfV team and supervise PfV local partners.ย
ย
Key responsibilities:
Contribute to the development of Country, Area and Core Competency (CC) strategies, initiate and participate in the development of relevant PfV projects.ย
Coordinate and manage PfV project implementation (activities, budget and project documentation) in line with proposals, strategies, donor requirements and NRC policies and guidelines.ย
Implement technical direction and ensure high technical quality of projects in line with NRC global standards and approaches.ย
Provide regular progress reports to the Area Manager and the PfV Specialist.ย
Ensure that projects target beneficiaries most in need of protection, explore and asses new and better ways to assist while promoting the rights of IDPs/returnees in line with the advocacy strategy including relevant safe and inclusive programming considerations.ย
Develop and manage project budgets (in cooperation and coordination across CCs).ย
Line management and development of project staff to ensure transfer of key skills.ย
Train, mentor, and coach staff on general protection case management and Individual Protection Assistance, protection monitoring in line with NRC modalities, SOPs, and toolkit.ย
Work closely with the NRC Partnerships team to identify potential partnerships and build capacity of local actors, including through flexible mini-grants and other support modalities.ย
Maintain protection analysis for the area covered to inform programme and strategy at area and country level.ย
Represent NRC and contribute to protection sub-cluster and relevant WGs, as relevant. Liaise and collaborate with relevant local authorities and other key stakeholders.ย
What you will bring
Minimum 3 yearsโ experience from a project management position in a humanitarian/ recovery, complex and volatile contexts.ย
Knowledge and experience of Protection Case Management and Individual Protection Assistance, Civilian Self-Protection, community-based protection or community led initiatives.ย
Knowledge and experience of Protection Analysis and Monitoring is an asset.ย
Experience in managing projects in a durable solutions context.ย
Fluency in English, both written and verbal as well as Ukrainian language. Knowledge of Russian language is an asset.ย
Experience from working in complex and volatile contexts.ย
Knowledge of the Ukrainian context is ad added advantage.
Valid driverโs license.

Contract: 12 months.
Travel: Up to 30% to field locations.
