The International Water Management Institute (IWMI), a CGIAR Research Center, is seeking applications from enthusiastic individuals who are interested in contributing to cutting-edge research and working with an international and diverse team of experts in the field of water management under IWMI\u2019s internship program. The internship will be based at IWMI\u2019s headquarters in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Scope of internship

During this internship, the selected candidate will support the growing IWMI portfolio under the CGIAR initiative on Digital Innovation. This internship aims to provide administrative and project management support to the Multi-dimension Digital Inclusion Index (MDII). It encompasses a range of responsibilities centered around supporting the MDII in project management tasks which include assisting in planning and implementing project strategies; providing administrative support to streamline operations; facilitating communication and coordination among project team members and stakeholders; and ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards. This internship aims to facilitate the efficient execution and coordination of the MDII project, enhancing the intern\u2019s skills in organizational, communication and management tasks within a research context.

During this internship, the intern will assist in the following areas:

\u2022 Aid in developing project plans and schedules.

\u2022 Assisting in monitoring project progress and providing updates.

\u2022 Open and close tasks on Microsoft Planner.

\u2022 Handling documentation, including drafting and organizing files.

\u2022 Keeping the MDII Project SharePoint and Microsoft Loop organized and up to date.

\u2022 Scheduling meetings, summarizing meeting notes and archiving the notes accordingly.

\u2022 Helping to prepare reports and presentations for stakeholders.

\u2022 Formatting documents, either in Microsoft Excel or Word.

\u2022 Assisting in implementing quality control measures on deliverable documents, such as quality check formatting.

Requirements

\u2022 Bachelor\u2019s degree in Business Administration or Project Management (recently completed / about to complete).

\u2022 Computer literacy and Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (specifically Excel and Word).

\u2022 Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal.

\u2022 Ability to work both in a team and independently.

\u2022 Candidates should be goal-oriented, confidential, skilled planners and organizers, with good interpersonal and teamwork skills.

\u2022 Knowledge or experience in agile and design thinking practices will be an added advantage.

\u2022 Ability to work in an organized way and eager to provide high-quality scientific work.

Benefits

IWMI will provide a monthly stipend to the selected candidate during the internship period.

The duration of the internship is 06 months with the possibility of extension for another 6 months based on performance, requirements of IWMI, and availability of funds. This is a nationally recruited internship and only citizens of Sri Lanka are eligible to apply.
