The International Water Management Institute (IWMI), a CGIAR Research Center is seeking an innovative & multi skilled candidate to join its office in Lahore, Pakistan, as a Project Coordinator.

The Project Coordinator will provide hands-on project implementation & coordination assistance on various research projects of IWMI in Pakistan. The incumbent will ensure an enabling environment among the project team, implementation partners, and key stakeholders for the timely delivery of the project outputs.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Contribute to preparing accurate and timely reporting on the research program and activities, enabling informed decision-making and consistency of information presented to stakeholders. Liaise with internal and external counterparts to ensure effective Cooperation, monitor the ongoing progress of the project, and highlight potential risks to program delivery. Assist the identification, development, and management of potential partnerships for coordinated working, leading to improved donor programs. Facilitate regular virtual and physical meetings with all implementing partners for coordination and planning. Responsible for all financial, operational, logistical, procurement, and accounting processes of the project. Assist in coordination and partnership with government and international development partner agencies working in climate change adaptation and water resources at the Punjab level. Track project portfolio, outputs, progress reporting updates, project progress, including project deliverables, and provide administrative support to the Team Leader to ensure that concurred timelines are adhered to. Assist the Team Leader in the different areas of the project management life cycle. Coordinate stakeholder engagement arrangements for the Team Leader as and when necessary. Ensure that inquiries and correspondence to the Team Leader are responded to appropriately and timely. Contribute to project portfolio growth by maintaining databases (contacts, interns, consultants, events, and projects). Maintain and monitor project plans, schedules, work hours, budgets, and expenditures. Organize, attend, and participate in stakeholder meetings. Document and follow up on necessary actions and decisions from meetings. Prepare necessary presentation materials for the project meetings. Ensure the project adheres to frameworks, and all documentation is maintained appropriately as per donor requirements. Assess project risks and issues and provide solutions where applicable. Ensure stakeholder views are managed towards the best solution. Create a project management calendar for fulfilling each goal and objective. Develop and coordinate data gathering and monitoring systems to maintain rigorous quality standards. Assist the external audit process and ensure retention of project records is compliant with IWMI and donor policies, in coordination with IWMI's Finance Unit. Ensure compliance with IWMI's anti-corruption and due diligence processes in association with IWMI's Program Management Office and Corporate Services Division.

Requirements

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Postgraduate university degree in the field of environmental science, climate change, policy, or other scientific disciplines relevant to water resources for multiple sectors. Minimum of 10 years of work experience, including at least 4 years of demonstrated experience in project management and management with international organizations and development partners in Pakistan. Prior experience in water management or climate change with international organizations. Demonstrated experience in documentation, especially in preparation of correspondence, briefings & terms of references for procuring services.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Good organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a timely manner. Ability to adapt and improvise with changing office demands. Demonstrated familiarity with social media and the ability to use such media to promote inter-office communications and dissemination of information. The ability to effectively establish priorities and plan, organize, implement, and monitor work activities with limited supervision. Excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with people in a multicultural and multidisciplinary environment, with sensitivity and respect for diversity. Proficiency in project management software, MS Office package & other related software & tools. Demonstrated skills in facilitation methods for participatory decisions and shared visions with stakeholders. Ability to deal with sensitive and confidential information in a professional manner. Ability to demonstrate high standards of conduct, respect, flexibility, and a sound work ethic.

LANGUAGE PROFICINECY:

Excellent oral and written language skills in English, including effective listening and strong verbal and written communication abilities. Proficiency in Urdu & Punjabi will be considered an asset

Benefits

This is a nationally recruited position and only candidates who are eligible to work in Pakistan will be considered. IWMI offers a competitive salary and benefits package, inclusive of health insurance, life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, and long-term disability coverage. The duration of the contract will initially be for a period of three years with the possibility of extension.
