ย Context
Under the overall guidance of the IBG Programme Manager and the direct supervision of the IBG Senior Programme Assistant, the Project Assistant will support the effective implementation of immigration and border governance programmes in Lebanon.ย
The IBG unit implements projects to improve border governance capacities in Lebanon, through infrastructure, equipment, capacity building and policy support to Lebanese authorities. This includes activities related to maritime search and rescue, border security, airport safety and humanitarian border management, among others.
1.ย ย ย ย Assist in the implementation and monitoring of project activities, in particular those related to training and other capacity development activities for national border management agencies. ย ย
2.ย ย ย ย Retrieve, compile, summarize, and present information/data on specific project topics.
3.ย ย ย ย Assist in managing and maintaining training-related documentation, ensuring that all records are verified, properly filed, scanned, and accessible.
4.ย ย ย ย Provide administrative and logistical support for capacity building activities, including coordination with internal units and external partners as needed. Respond to general inquiries and maintain effective documentation for correspondence.
5.ย ย ย ย Draft status reports, identifying shortfalls in delivery and bringing them to the attention of the supervisor.ย
6.ย ย ย ย Draft and manage routine correspondence, including emails, reports, meetings minutes, formal letters, graphics, statistical tables, presentations and other forms of documentation; follow up with the supervisor on pending actions and progress.
7.ย ย ย ย Maintain and regularly update training schedules and contact lists of training participants, stakeholders, and relevant partners.
8.ย ย ย ย Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education
โข ย ย ย ย School diploma with four years of relevant experience; or,
โข ย ย ย ย Bachelorโs degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience.ย

โข ย ย ย ย Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations
โข ย ย ย ย Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups; and,
โข ย ย ย ย Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
Skills
โข ย ย ย ย In-depth knowledge of the broad range of migration-related subject areas dealt with by the Organization.
โข ย ย ย ย Knowledge of UN and bilateral donor programming.
โข ย ย ย ย Knowledge of financial rules and regulations.
Languages
- For this position, fluency in Arabic and English is required (oral and written).
