ย Context
IOM, as the leading UN agency in the field of migration, works closely with governmental, intergovernmental, and non-governmental partners. IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants.ย
Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission (CoM) of International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Nepal and the direct supervision of the National Program Officer/Head of Migration, Environment, Climate Change and Risk Reduction (MECR) Department, the incumbent's responsibilities will include the following:ย
1. Provide general/clerical assistance (printing, scanning, photocopying, record keeping, note keeping, ordering, stocking, inventory, preparing simple invoices and payment requests, maintaining office records and databases, supporting travel arrangements etc.) in the implementation of theย Comprehensive Approach to Climate Mobility in South Asia Projectย project activities.
2. Retrieve, compile, summarize, and present information/data on specific topics.ย in the scope of migration, environment, climate change, and risk reduction.ย
3. Assist in updating budget-related information and keeping a record of all Purchase Requisitions raised in WAVE.
4. Support administrative coordination for project implementation, involving liaison with other units or external parties to initiate requests, obtain necessary clearances, process, and follow-up on administrative actions.
5. Draft correspondence, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, presentations, and other forms of documentation related to the project.
6. Support the organization of meetings, workshops and training sessions related to the project.ย
7. Respond to general requests and inquiries; and maintain and record electronic filing system verifying that all the relevant project documents are recorded in an organized manner.
9. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education
- Bachelorโs degree in Business Administration or related field from an accredited Institution with 1 year of relevant work experience, or
- School diploma in relevant subject with at least 3 years of relevant work experience. Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database. ย Experience
- Experience working in the field of humanitarian assistance, climate change or development.
- Experience working with UN agencies/IOM or I/NGOs will be an advantage.
- Experience in managing daily administrative project work.ย Skills

- Good computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office package (Office, Excel, Power Point, Outlook), is essential; Languages
