Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of Porgramme Analyst – Climate Change and Resilience or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UNV Porgramme Support Officer will: A. Scope of the work for PSO under Regional Human Security Programme will include. 1. Take responsibility of working as a focal point for the project and support to maintain coordination with the project partners, regional team, government officials and UN RCO 2. Support conduct desk reviews and online research to take stock of existing tools and analytical instruments in reference to Nepal: 3. Provide inputs to develop a methodological framework and guiding tool (s) that adopt a portfolio approach to support countries in integrating human security in development programming: 4. Support in piloting of developed methodological framework to co-create human security programming to address multi-dimensional risks for resilience building 5. Support to finalize the methodological framework and guiding tool(s) reflecting on lessons learnt and produce knowledge products and communication materials 6. Produce project reports for donors, partners, UN RCO and UNDP in consultation with UNDP CO and regional team 7. Support the International Consultant and other UNDP experts/officials in implementation of the project B. Scope of Work for other Support required by Country Office 1. Support in formulation of various projects as mentioned above and maintain project calendar 2. Support to coordinate and liaison with government and non- governmental agencies and partners 3. Prepare meeting minutes and reports of consultations, workshop and seminars/conferences 4. Conduct desk reviews and prepare reports, briefing notes to support project formulation process; 5. Support to conduct/organize meetings, workshops, conferences, and seminars 6. Support implementation of various projects and initiatives supported by UNDP in the area of Environment Climate Risks Management and Disaster Risk Reduction 7. Support organize training, orientations, seminars, workshops and other events. 8. Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor. • Strengthen their knowledge and understanding of the concept of volunteerism by reading relevant UNV and external publications and take active part in UNV activities (for instance in events that mark International Volunteer Day); • Be acquainted with and build on traditional and/or local forms of volunteerism in the host country; • Provide annual and end of assignment self-reports on UN Volunteer actions, results and opportunities. • Contribute articles/write-ups on field experiences and submit them for UNV publications/websites, newsletters, press releases, etc.; • Assist with the UNV Buddy Programme for newly-arrived UN Volunteers; • Promote or advise local groups in the use of online volunteering or encourage relevant local individuals and organizations to use the UNV Online Volunteering service whenever technically possible.
