Work LocationUNRWA - Programme Support Office, Jordan Field Office Expected durationMore than 3 months Duties and ResponsibilitiesBackground The Programme Support Office (PSO) of UNRWA Jordan Field Office (JFO) leads on strategic and programme planning, results monitoring and reviewing, evaluation of programmes and projects, systems strengthening, and supporting the Front Office in providing strategic direction of programme interventions. Under the supervision of staff of the PSO, the Intern may be assigned matters such as: โข Data Collection and Analysis: Conduct data collection from various Programme Offices and relevant units. Undertake research to identify suitable qualitative and quantitative data and support ensuring the adequacy and reliability of data presented in all reports. โข Drafting Written Outputs: Support in coordinating the preparation of various written outputs, including background papers, analytical notes, concept notes, proposals and other programme/project related documents and presentations ensuring compliance with organizational standards, and other information products such as charts and infographics to convey messages effectively. โข Project/Programme Support: Support strengthening of Project/Programme Cycle Management, including developing and updating work plans, budgets, monitoring templates, other relevant documents. โข Meeting Coordination: Help organize, coordinate and participate in meetings, including taking minutes when requested. โข Perform other related duties as required, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the team and projects. On completion of the internship, the candidate will have gained: As a UNRWA JFO team member, interns will be involved in various programmes of the Jordan Field and will receive guidance, supervision, and on the job training on a regular basis. Through the assignment, interns will gain a good understanding and increase his/her knowledge of planning, implementation, monitoring, reporting and evaluation of protracted refugeesโ situation and UNRWAโs responses. Interns will also be able to carry out research and develop network of contacts within and outside UNRWA. Interns will get exposure to complex, highly operational matters and acquire rich experiences on program management in a fast-paced environment. Qualifications/special skillsEducation: โข Applicants must be students enrolled in or have recently completed (i.e. commencing the internship within one year of graduation date), either a graduate school programme (i.e. second university degree or equivalent degree, or higher) or the university degree programme (minimum bachelorโs level or equivalent). Work Experience: โข Applicants are not required to have professional work experience, although prior work experience will be an advantage. โข Excellent IT skills, especially MS Word, MS Excel and MS PPT are required.
