JOB PURPOSE To support and manage nutrition programmes to contribute to meeting the nutritional needs of beneficiaries within the country and provide technical advice and guidance on nutrition strategies, programme design and implementation.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

Contribute to the development of nutrition activities, plans and processes for WFP programmes (nutrition-based programme and nutrition sensitive programme) ensuring alignment with wider nutrition policies and guidance.

Provide technical assistance to the Government counterparts (e.g., Bangladesh National Nutrition Council, National Nutrition Services) for policy, strategies & national plan formulation and support the implementation of the National Plan of Action for Nutrition key action areas, particularly nutrition-sensitive social protection.

Support the Head of nutrition on resource mobilization initiatives through but not limited to concept note and proposal writing.

Support the strategic integration of Social and behaviour change (SBC) interventions into WFP programmes to achieve nutrition outcomes aligning to WFP corporate standards. This will include, but not limited to, technical assistance, guidance on programme design, training materials, and guidelines, including large-scale communication campaigns.

Engage with relevant entities of the Government of Bangladesh, donor, relevant stakeholders at appropriate level and in various platforms in policy and advocacy initiatives for the inclusion of nutrition actions in programmes and plans.

Strengthened strategic partnerships and coordination liaising between internal and external counterparts (Government institutions, WFP programme teams, UN agencies etc.) to ensure the coherence, and technical integrity of nutrition programming highlighting WFPโ€™s mandate in different fora and platforms.

Represent WFP in various internal and external platforms e.g., SUN, UNSDCF, inter-ministerial committee to ensure WFPโ€™s nutrition plan and agenda in line with the CSP are adequately reflected in joint action plan and reporting.

Engage in evidence generation, analytics, knowledge management and learning initiatives for informing decision-making processes of WFP and other stakeholders and showcasing WFPโ€™s intervention in various platforms.

Capacity strengthening of WFP internal cross-functional units, Government counterparts and partners to integrate/mainstream nutrition-sensitive approaches, SBC in their plans, and programme implementation through technical guidance, trainings, tools development etc.

Technical support and guidance will be provided to the field offices on the implementation of nutrition actions specially SBC interventions, identify the capacity gaps and take initiatives to address them i.e., through training and or mentoring and coaching sessions.

Guide junior staff, acting as a point of referral and supporting them with more complex analysis and queries.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: Advanced University degree in Nutrition, Public health and food sciences or any other relevant subject. Experience: At least 5 years of solid & responsible work experience with 3 years of professional experience. Language: Fluency in spoken and written both in English and Bangla language.
